Black Is Hardest To Keep Looking Nice, What's Second?
 

If black is the hardest color to keep looking nice, it would seem that any of the other dark colors, like blue, grey, and green (all dark shades) would be close behind. I would think white would be the easiest with red perhaps second. What do you think?

I know how hard it is to keep a black truck clean, but wouldn't want to touch a white truck for anything.

But seriously, my truck is very hard to keep clean, I thought I could tame the bad boy color, it's a task and a half to do so. But you have to agree, it looks great when it's clean. NXT wax, Mother's Carnauba wax and a cheap $40 buffer really brought the shine out. Give me an example of a polish (i.e. Mothers, Meguiar's...etc. I need a product name of a polisher). I have turtle wax polisher, but I don't know how well that would work as it was pretty cheap.

It is actually "very dark black" ;)

Portercable & Makita are the two polishers, expect to spend 150+

I am looking for a particularly good polishing compound. Something to get rid of those swirls. Not carnauba wax or any sort of synthetic wax, but polishing compounds. Are there any good ones that work particularly well on black?

I can only go by my wifes Yukon. Dark blue...hate it!

The Sultan of Swirls, RP, should be along shortly, but in the meantime I've found that #9 Swirl Remover works alright. I've got #80 Speed Glaze and a little bit of DACP that RUSSELL336 gave me that I haven't experimented with yet.

#9 on the PC at about 4-4.5 with one sorta thick coat of #26. The hood was (is) the best looking panel on my truck right now. I've since slacked off and got a bunch of swirls that stick out like a sore thumb. As soon as I get a nice weekend...

Its so close to black it shows dirt the same. B-E-A-utiful color when clean though. :thumbsup:

My black is hard as hell to keep clean! good lord :lol: but when it is clean and shiny boy does it look good!

Black is the fastest too...
 

Just want to comment on the widely aclaimed reason why Black is the hardest to keep looking good. Black is the preetiest, fastest, and the most glamorous color out there.. :thumbsup:

IMO, second is white. White is real hard to keep clean and IMO, doesn't give up the extra hp and low in the glamour are too..:cool:

Keeping my white truck clean is a chore sometimes, but not as bad as black.
Silver is the easiest color to keep clean by far.
