Xm Radio

Can anybody please fill me in on the differences between the PIE connector and the $30 kit(plugs in the antenna on the radio) they sell at BestBuy to hard wire my roady xt. which one has the better sound quality? i'm lookinf for the best sound quality and to eliminate plugging into the cig lighter.

i've searched and i'm still not sure.
thanks for any input.

The PIE unit is going to pump the audio output of your XM Roady via RCA plugs DIRECTLY into your head unit while it's in the AUX position.

The 'add-on' types are modulators. This means that a little device tricks the radio into recieving a FM signal that you'll tune to on the FM band.

The biggest difference is SOUND QUALITY. The PIE will yield 10x better sound quality -- take it from me (someone who has gone the PIE and the modulator route), the PIE is the way to go.

I agree with Rockpick. The sound quality is much better with the PIE. I installed my Sirius Sportster with PIE adapter after trying it with the adapter from Circuit city. All it does is interupt the FM signal, but its FM and the signal is muffled.

PIE baby!!
