I was wondering if anyone has the optional KTC-V500N TV tuner that is made for the Kenwood 7015, 7017, 8017 units. I have added the MP3 keg, and the reverse cam and I want to expand the possibilities of this unit even more! These TV tuner's aren't all that expensive and they are plug and play with the Kenwood head units and controlled through the touchscreen. My question for those that have it, or if you know.....what input on the back of the head unit does it use? Is there a specific plug for the TV tuner to plug into? I know there is a specific plug (RGB) for the Navi input (which I don't have yet either) and also a CD changer input (which is what the MP3 keg plugs into). There is also only one video input which is used by the R-cam. I just want to make sure I am not already using the input I need for this tuner or if I will end up needing a splitter to make it work. Also, for those that have it, how is the reception and where are your antennas mounted? Thanks!!

 

I would like to get one also, but I have read that the reception is not that great while driving.

 

Hey, I was looking at your pinout of the connector in your gallery. Is this a pinout of the factory plug? If so, pin 20 Dark Blue I'm guessing, looks like it says "parking aid mute signal", is that the reverse sensor mute wire for the earlier ones that had that? I remember seeing that wire and taping it off. Is it possible to run that wire to the "call-mute" wire on the kenwood head unit so it will mute when the reverse sensors are activated? That would be a neat thing to have if it worked like that.

 

Yes, it is the pinout for the factory plug. I dont know if what you are talking about would work or not, but it would cool if it works.
