6 Disc / MP3 Player off eBay

Has anyone purchased the 6 disc / MP3 player off of eBay (or elseware) and replaced their original single disc stereo? I'm looking at leftover '05's and was considering replacing the stock single disc with a CD6/MP3 off of eBay? Do the cables hook up the same? Is the dash a PITA to get out to replace the radio? Any other concerns? Thanks in advance!!

I did, I went from the single disc in dash in my 2004 to the CD-6 MP3 non-Audiophile unit. It was a plug and play swap, although if you're doing this to an '04 truck with steering wheel controls, they won't exactly work the same with the '05 head unit. The steering wheel controls will no longer skip through your presets when you're listening to the radio, instead it'll seek through all frequencies.

I did the same thing...bought a 6-disk MP3 off from ebay...it plugs right in to the existing harness. Only thing is...the one I bought the cd changer didn't work so now it's at a repair shop hopefully getting fixed. I believe it was a fully working unit when the guy sent it out, since he has a spotless feedback record. The radio was packed really good, but the box looked like it had gotten banged around alot in transit.

Around $120 - $150 from what I've seen.

I had my CD6/MP3 proffesionally unistalled. It was only used for about 3 months in my 05' F150. If you're interested shoot me an email.

Mine came from eBay. It was a new take out of a 06 Ford Explorer. I paid like $185 shipped.

I emailed. Let me know how much you're asking. I still haven't decided on the truck yet. Some have it, some don't.

Thanks for all the input so far!!

Everyone is a professional these days; considering some tabs, 4 bolts and a wire harness or two makes it a tedious task.

I replaced my single disk in my 04 with 6 disc MP3 player and it worked fine and still is working fine.. I love it... Before I made the purhcase I was reading stories about how alot of them get damaged during shipping and wont work on arrival... But mine came to me in great shape...

I bought what was supposed to be the non-audiophile 6 disk mp3 off of ebay and it turned out to be an audiophile.

It all plugged in, but does not sound very good, as it has filters and extra connectors for speakers that do not exist in a non-audiophile wired truck (mainly the subwoofer and extra tweeters).

I am trying to deal with the seller to try to get my money back.

I paid $140~ish

Even my non-Audiophile CD-6 didn't (doesn't) sound very good. I have to turn the volume up pretty high compared to my old single CD unit to get the same sound. Replacing the door speakers front and rear helped a lot though.

Hmmm, sounds like maybe the sound isn't as good with the CD6? Has anyone else had this problem? I don't want and don't intend to replace speakers as well.

Thanks for all the input so far!!
