My New F150, Leveling kit, Tires?

Guys/Gals,

I was unsure whether to put this in the suspension or the wheels and tires section so I put it here. Forgive me if its in the wrong place.

just picked up my new F-150 and am loving it....

I want to level the truck using either a 2" or a 2.5" Daystar or other leveling kit.

If you notice below. With the factory 20" wheels and (for a truck) low profile tires. The truck (to me) almost has a sporty look to it more than the truck look I want. I am concerned that if I put the leveling kit in it might not look right with the stock tires.

What do you guys think?

If anyone has pics of something like I am thinking. please post.

Thanks!

First off it is a good looking truck like it is. If you level it I would go with a 33" off road tire with a little more width to it. That would give it a little more truck look and not spoil the already good profile it has.

Does Toyo make the Open Country M/T in a 33x12.50x20?

If so get it with a 2.5" Daystar!

PS: WaWaTuSi, send an email my way.

$511.00 per tire.. WOW!

It may be cheaper to go with a 33x12.5r16.5 or something......

Im sure you'll be able to get them cheaper than that price.

. . . one problem though, basically the smallest wheel you can use is a 18"

There is however, a VERY SMALL portion of 17" wheels but you'll be better off just using an 18" if you decide on switching.

Forgive this old jeeper but why would 18" be the smallest I could use.

I did find one site that had them for 368 each... Still seems costly for a 33" tire but I am new to the truck sized 20" wheels... lol

17" would be the smallest, unless they changed stuffon the new trucks.

The way it was explained to me is that the brake calipers aare too big & the 16" wheel wouldn't fit around them

Ahh Gotcha... That makes sense.....

Googling r20's its hard. I gotta find a good toyo dealer!

tire prices have alot to do with availability and demand.

37x18's are pretty dang cheap (<300$)

41's are pricy

also they jack up the prices of whatever design they currently decided is worth charging lots for.

Example, since 20 inch wheels are costly, tire guys go ahead and sell their 20' offroad tires really pricy.

Here is a picture of my truck with the Daystar 2.5" leveling kit and 20" wheels with 33" tires for you to get an idea of what yours would look like. You can get a more agressive tire than I chose though, but you get the idea anyway. Good luck with whatever you choose. :santa:
