You can fit them if you use the OEM wheels. The wider aftermarket wheels will push the tires out slightly and cause fitment problems. In my opinion, the best looking combo with a 2.5 inch leveling kit is an 18x9 inch wheel (5 or 5 1/2 inches of backspacing) and a 325/60-18 (33x13.00) tire.

Wandell hit the nail on the head with this one. I wouldn't even waste my time trying unless your running the stock wheels, otherwise the biggest I'd go is a 33, anymore with an aftermarket wheel you'll need a lift.

i think you can fit a 35 under there, but the key is backspacing and rim width. if you break it down mathmatically it would sound something like this. normally with the stock rim, being 7.5 inches wide, you can fit a 35 MT tire no problem, but if you have wider rims, (i have helo 6s as well) you will be an inch and a half wider, so the tire is going to stick out further and not be sucked in like if you were to use the oem wheels. My thinking is that as long as you stick with a 12.50 tire and its OVERALL DIAMETER is around 34.5 inches, you should get away with minor triming, maybe even no triming. the reason why i posted this was because i have been wanting to stick a 35 inch tire on my truck for a while, i just havent seattle on a tire yet. im prolly going to get the cooper stt in a 35, overall diameter is like a 34.4" tire, and it says the tread width is only 10.5 inches wide, so i bettin that it will fit.

I have the BFG 315/70/17 tires that are supposed to measure out at 34.4 inches. My wheels have 5.5" backspace and are but one inch wider than stock and I have no rubbing whatsoever.

This isn't so black and white as everyone is making it seem, most people are missing what happens to the tire when you put it on a wider rim and vice-versa.

I think the lesson with all modifications is the further you deviate from stock the more chance you have of encountering problems.

I have a 2005 also, and am thinking of going to 17" wheels ($). Did you have trouble finding wheels to clear the caliper with the barrel? What model wheel you using?

My truck was built prior to 1/2005, the build date when the caliper size was increased. Wheels for my truck and new style trucks prior did not have this issue. My wheels are Welds. They were one of the few at the time that had the backspace I wanted.
