Cd Hot
Cd Hot
I was making a short trip from philly to dc listening to my favorite cds about 5 miles outside of dc my cd stopped playing and the lcd screen on the player read cd hot for about 20 seconds and went straight to radio and would not play any more cds i got back just listening to the radio and did not try to use the cd player again until this morning and it was fine has anyone else had this problem before i wasnt listening to the same cd for more than 45 minutes.
This happened all the time in my '99 F150 in-dash CD player. Eventually Ford replaced the head unit with one that had a built-in fan. My Audiophile 6CD unit has never done this. I would say that if it continues to happen take it to the dealer. During the winter months, when the heater vents are frequently used, this problem may be more evident. The CD players do give off quite a bit of heat and it's nice to know that the unit has a shutoff safety feature built-in. Good Luck
