I ain't saying what that guy's dealership did was right, but given the recent changes to Ford's warranty policy guide, I can understand where they're coming from. Once more: If there's no specific TSB for a PCM recalibration, Ford will not reimburse the dealership for it. Admittedly, his dealer didn't do their job properly, checking for any applicable TSBs 'cause I'm sure there's one or two that can be used on '05s for warranty PCM recals. Just 'cause his dealer sucks doesn't mean they all do.
Quintin - didn't mean any offense to you personally. I have watched threads where you personally helped other members out and I know they were greatful. In the process, I've learned a thing or two.

The two local dealers around here have screwed me over and caused many headaches to me personally. The first one argued with me when I took in my Mustang GT with the mach 1000 package when I told them I was missing 4 amps and 2 10 inch subwoofers in the trunk. They kept it over a week before even ordering parts. I contacted ford personally and apparently I was the only one in the nation (at that time) that had this problem. This was after an "accidental" 1000 dollar mistake on my paper work that was in their favor.
That was Landers Ford in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

Then North Point Ford in NLR, Arkansas is a little better. This is where I bought my current truck. But while I had the Mustang GT the service manager outright told me I needed to take my vehicle back to the original dealership in order to get it fixed. I've got to take my truck in for a few things and we will see how well they have changed.

I wish I could find a good dealership around here but I believe they are few and far inbetween.

I believe in the philosphy(spelling) "if you have a good experience at a place you will tell 3 of your friends, if you have a bad experience at a place you will tell 12 of your friends."

No harm done. I've been on both sides of the fence as a customer and as a dealer technician, so I can rationalize opinions and/or facts either way. Sad fact though is that the sucky dealers generally outweigh the good ones, and they as a whole ruin it for the dealers that actually try to take care of their customers. That part I'm not cool with.

i agree. i brang my truck in a few months ago for rattles all over the place and I got the truck back like 3 days later and not one rattle was fixed(rear window, ash tray). I brang in my truck a few weeks ago for the same rattles and a new one (headliner rattle) and I get the truck back pretty happy this time with the headliner rattle and ashtray fixed but they said they needed to buy some parts for the rear widow and they said they would call. its been about 3 weeks and Im still waiting for that call...

Keep waiting; 9 times out of 10 you have to bug the hell out of the advisor to get his attention. Granted he's busy with others hassling him but dont make a promise you dont intend to keep. (Like a F'n warranty_

I had the rear window rattle fixed. No big deal, they ordered the kit and sent a mobile glass co. to my house to replace the seal or whatever they did. Call the guy back, chances are your parts could be sitting somewhere waiting for someone to ask about them.

They called today and said they had a special guy come look at it. The "special guy" said that he had only seen that vibration in 3 other trucks. They ordered a dampner for it and told me to bring it back when they called. No bill whatsoever I still want the reflash though so i might be driving to SC to get that done.
