Cow Tipping...

Correct me if Im wrong but I believe Cow Tipping is sneaking up to a cow while it's sleeping and tipping it over.

Bigyellowtruck1,

You must be a vegetarian. Did you ever stop to think of the feelings of those poor carrots and lettuce?

You are cruel.

If you stopped eating, you wouldnt hurt anyones feelings.

We hunt to eat meat.

Yes, and also one of the biggest myths that went around our high school back in the day. Of course, everybody did it, but then when you ask them, nobody actually did. You know why? Cows do not sleep standing up, at least ours don't. My dad has a dairy farm with over 100 in the heard and not one sleeps standing up. If they are standing up.......they are awake, and are very aware of what's going on around them by sense of hearing and smell (not so much vision). And those snow pics are awesome, can't wait till we get a little so I can go out and play! Deer hunting is a sport and yes we do it for fun, but like was said, it is for the meat, and to prevent over population. And last time I checked, there were PLENTY of deer out there. I have seen so many on the side of the road it is just rediculous. I still can't understand the concept there......I can sit in the woods in a tree stand for 3 hours not making a sound with cover scent on and not see a deer....but when you go barrelin down the road, headlights on, exhaust roarin, radio up, deer will line up to jump out in front of you.

The Department of natural resources (the experts) only issues enough kill tags to keep manageable numbers in the area of what they feel is ideal. It is not like it's a free for all, and you get to go kill anything you want. Fact is hunting advocates base there opinions on statistics and hard numbers. You know science, that thing you must have skipped. Anti hunters such as yourself base your comments on emotion and other crap. Try fully understanding the hunting system/rules/regulations, in this country before you knock it. Please hurry up and sell your truck!

matt05, you are correct, my best friend has a 20k acre ranch with over 2k head of cattle, i have helped out down there for along time. cows sleep on the ground. But think of it this way, even if they didnt, a cow weighs what, 1200 lbs or more, it would take at least 6 or 7 brawny guys to push her over, and even if you did have that many guys, most likely she would hear you or the herd would and it would be crazy from there on out.

Great snow pics. We only have a few inches here in Missouri.
Deer hunting is awesome. This is how we collect our meat in style:

Look. The deer never feel a thing. Even if they do feel somthing, it doesnt take long for me to reach them. Then they meet Mr. 357. He relieves them of their paint pretty quick.

We hunt in a group of 12 to 14 people. There is a lot of deer around this area. When we go talk to the farmers for permission to hunt on there land they want us to shoot as many as we can. (We only shoot what we have tags for) They do a lot of damage to there crops. We grind some of the meat into hamburger for our familys and we also take some into the locker for sticks and sausage. The state of Iowa also has a program that you can donate your deer to a locker and they process it and give it to a needy family. The state also has special late season hunts to help with some of the over populated counties.

Cow tipping is entirely possible. It's very easy to tip over a 2,000lb car with 3-4 brawny guys (trust me I've seen it) and a car has a very wide stance and it's weight is spread over a larger area than a cows top heavy stance. I've seen 2 guys rock over a 4klb jeep, I have the video (from a competition). There is a scientific equation on the internet in pdf format where it is possible to tip over a cow of average weight with 3 people, they factored in projectory, average footing of a cow's stance, weight displacement, everything. It was very methodical and they came up with 3 average men. I am just throwing this in because I spent a lot of time reading that entire scientific expirement about 6 months ago, look around for it, it's probably still out there.

And cow tipping isn't done during the day, you have to sneak up on the cattle and it's best when no moon is present. We have over 2k heads of holstein's and I'm telling you, it's not impossible.

Cow tipping?

Why would you tip a cow, where would they spend the money?

If you are not a vegetarian, then that is a tad hypocritical.
Venison is great healthy eating. And dear are so plentiful across this land that they are an environmental threat.

I wish it would snow here also. Desert snows only last a day or two, even when we get two feet. If it does snow, I hope to get some great Snowy Joshua Tree and F150 shots.
