THANKS FOR THOSE PICS!! If it wouldn't be too much trouble, could you explain the IHF1000 hookup to the Hands-Free Prep kit, and then all of that connected to the truck? Your pics show the stuff, but not too much detail about how it all goes together. Again, thanks for the pics man.

I don't feel like paying money for the harness. I have no problem tapping wired myself. Did you integrate the hands free with your trucks speakers or just tapped into the mute? I see the mute is pin 20 on the harness. Does anyone know how the speakers are connected? Is there some sort of input to get the phone's audio through all speakers? I can only see connecting to one speaker by looking at the harness schematic.

ihf1000 wiring diagram

Here is the diagram of how the IHF is connected. When your cd player head unit is pulled out, unplug the connectors on the back, the prep harness then plugs directly in to the head unit in place of the oem connectors, the oem connectors then plug into the prep harness. The wires that are broke out from the harness then connect to the IHF wires in the diagram. All the wires in both the IHF and the prep harness are very clearly marked. The speaker +/-, mute, power and ground. The ignition wire I did splice in to the oem harness (light green and yellow wire) so that the IHF is switched on/off the same as the head unit (like when you open a door after turning the truck off).
The harness is a cleaner install, but not necessary.

Thanks for the replies; however, I am looking for a little more specific information. I am trying to avoid buying the ford harness. I just want to tap into the existing harness pins. Below is a picture I found on the internet of a close-up shot showing the ends of the ford harness that gets connected to the motorola hands-free kit.

My question is what pin does each of these wires attach to.

I think that only the ground and run/acc go to the big molex connector, and the other stuff go to the CANBus (smaller) connector. My truck didn't have any existing harness for A/V or anything like that, just splicing wouldn't have worked for me, and at the time, I didn't have a PIE adapter to splice into. Besides, I couldn't beat $35 on ebay at the time. It would have taken me at least an hour or two to research wiring and then to do the splicing. I don't have enough time in the day for that because of my full-time job and I have too much stuff to do around the house; plus, I make more than that per hour editing videos or doing consulting work when I'm not at the plant.
