Angry So Much for Having Anything Nice

Well there go all my MODS. I only had two but I really liked them.

Kenwood Stereo & ScanGauge.

Some A**hole broke into my truck last night and ripped them off.

Did they really have to take my trailer brake wiring harness and owner’s manual too?

Deductible is $500, worth about $540. Go figure.

Yeah I know -- So don’t Anyone go mentioning it -- I should have bought an alarm. If I could go back in time I'd get one. I’d also sit out by my truck and kick the s**t out of someone.

On a good note (like there’s a bright side here) whoever did it was pretty careful about not messing up my truck too bad. Absolutely no sign of breaking-in on the outside. A Yes! the doors were locked. The dashboard has about 5 little indents from the screwdriver, or whatever was used, but at least it’s not ripped to pieces. I put the original, piece of crap, AM/FM radio back in. So, I’m back to where I was a couple of months ago, just a little poorer and a whole lot madder. Wish I hadn’t spent all morning putting together a nice MP3 CD to play.

All the more reason why I stuck with the factory headunit. All my JL stuff is hidden. Also that alarm system is sounding like a very sound investment I made at my truck purchase.

That is the VERY reason I am not getting a navigation or aftermarket head unit. As soon as I do, some low life will come, break my window(or worse), wreck my dash, and steal everything. They just did it to my girlfriends honda civic, a civic for God's sake. I installed a new deck and told her whenever she leaves to take the faceplate.

Recently my parents car was broken into, the dumbass broke the door handle, broke the window, and when the ghetto dumbass finally got in, he left the radio on the seat. Alarm or not, if someone wants something bad enough , they will get it. To me they're just animals.

Make sure you file a police report and hopefully the cops will patrol your part of the 'hood a little more. That seems to be the only thing these animals are scared of, beside a 12 guage on the front porch.

That happened to a friend of mine, a couple of years ago. It really sucks, but somehow his factory stereo cost almost 700 dollars to replace. Pretty expensive for an AM/FM cassette player.

I know how it feels to get broken into. When I had my 04 F-150, some crack head busted out my back window and stole my factory DVD player that snaps onto the rails on the headliner.

Angry And The Hits Keep Coming

Thanks for all the responses. But, I guess they weren’t happy with just getting my stereo & ScanGauge.

This morning I found the county’s speed limit sign pulled up and thrown in our backyard.

I almost parked the truck there last night (on side yard inside fence). Good thing I didn’t; the sign would have done some serious damage.

No one in our family pissed off anyone. We just work and keep to ourselves. Was it the same person/people that took my stuff? Really ticks me off not knowing.

My kids have had two bikes stolen over the past few years. All the missing stuff starts adding up.

Think I’m going to set up a video surveillance system. Figure on 8 cameras (2 sets of 4 cameras with two monitors and VCRs). Costco has what looks like a pretty good set. Will set me back a little over 1k (that I dont' have now), but I got to do something. Figure it will either picture out who’s doing it or deter them.

Man I’m ticked.

That’s what I’m thinking. Some one who can see when I come home, that I don’t leave during the night, etc. Plus the Kenwood was a D-Mask. It looked like nothing was there when it was turned off so I didn’t bother taking off the faceplate. I guess that was a big mistake. They probably would have taken it anyway

Luckily my Garmin 2620 GPS is portable so I take it out every time.

Police report filed, but that will probably do no good.

Called GEICO and he said he didn’t know if they would cover it since they were aftermarket items and I hadn’t notified them that I added them. I never thought of telling them. I have the receipts so that would probably be proof enough. He was going to set up an appointment with the adjuster. But since my deductible is $500 I’m not going to get much from GEICO, so I figure what’s the point. It’ll just waste my time and get me more pissed. I would have had to either miss work or meet with him next Saturday. I got too much stuff to take a day off right now and I couldn’t stand to drive around with an empty dash for a week.

Just a thought, if this happened on your property and your automotive insurance provider doesn't cover the loss. Your home insurance may cover the loss due to the fact that it happened on your property. Worth a phone call, make sure you mention the vandlism of the road sign at the same time.

Thanks Jonren, but my home onwers insurance is a $500 deductible also. So basically I'm screwed either way.

Funny how the jerks that don't have auto/home insurance always seem to make out in the long run. Example: My wife got hit in the side in our brand new 99 Escort (a long time ago - it had 200miles on it) and the jerk showed the cops an insurance ID card, but his insurance had elapsed. The cops said, "It looks like under $500 damage so I won't file a report."

Hello! Is there anybody there? A scratch on a new car is more than $500. Thanks for helping good citizens.

Our insurance company called the man that hit her. He asked, "What accident?" We paid $100 uninsured motorist deductible and the body shop never did get it back the way it was.

Justice is never served. That's what's wrong with our civilization. A 49 year-old homeless drugy stole my 1980 ragged out Toyota. The cops caught him, called me, I picked up my truck at 2am and the cops had to show me how to start it because the ignition was hanging. Later when I was cleaning it out I found a syringe and I called the cops. The lady said to just throw it away because they couldn't use it for evidence.

Good thing I didn't get stuck. Or worse, stopped for a busted tail light or something. Imagine if a cop seen that, I would have been the one in jail.

The man finally pleaded guilty (after pleading innocent) and got 3 months in jail. It was winter in Washington so he got a warm bed and good meals for 3 months. I got a tore up truck and "Oh well" from the cops.

Ok I'm rambling. I've got the right. People steal and there's no real punishment. The victims, who are usually hard-working citizens, live on and survive, but it's gets harder and harder to trust or respect the Police.

I know how easy these trucks are to break in, would anyone be interested in "blocker" plates as well as one for the hood ?
