Darn SilverStars 9005
Darn SilverStars 9005
I got a set of SilverStar 9005 bulbs last year and put em in place of my fog lights.
One burned out last week, and the other burned out on my way home last night.
I guess the other bulb heard us talking about it at the dyno day and decided to burn itself out.
At least neither exploded like I have heard some of these bulbs do.
Anyone else had to replace their 9005 SilverStars pre-maturely?

I've had em burn out in my car within 6 months. Was using highbeam bulbs in the lowbeams. I just wrote it off as using them for the wrong application, great while it lasted though. Haven't tried the 9005's for that same reason, too expensive to replace every 6-9 months.
Same here. I had one fail within 4 months of having it. Didn't explode, the filiment in it just melted apart. Probably a defect or something because the other side is still working fine and it has been in there twice as long.
I have an explorer and it uses 4 bulbs...2 for low and two for high.....9005 and 9007 i beleive.....the low beams which i believe are the 9005's have both burned out twice already....and i just lost a high beam the other day....i bought them for the first time over a year ago though.....and i just keep throwing new bulbs in
