Just did the 700 miles back home. Man, this truck is sweet. Got caught up in a little road rage too..

With the truck, when I was over 70, I had the OD on, when I eased back down to 60, I turned it off. That worked good. The tranny was smooth the whole time. I am finding out, that this load (my two bikes/6x12 enclosed trailer) is easy work for this truck.

adrianspeeder, how does the lockup torque converter play a role in the gearing? When I'm in overdrive and I feel it "kick down", when the OD button is pushed, it drops again. Does the lockup occur between third and overdrive?

My truck does that too. I think the torque converter locks up when you see and fell the rpm go down, with the O/D off.
