4.6L silencer removal?

How and where is this..I hear it helps alot!

It is in the intake tube that goes from the air box to the throttle body. Use needle nose pliers to twist it from all sides and then once they are all free pull it out. When I did it for my truck it took an hour, but since I knew what I was doing it took me 10 minutes for my cousin's truck.

Got her out...was a nightmare for me..lol...going for a test run now..more later...I may still get a AF1 soon anyway...they atleast look awesome!

Took her for a test run...much better throttle response and I love the four barrel like sound now..lol!

After driving her alot today...thanks for the silencer tip..with that mod and the k&n filter and the magnaflow...i must say she runs like a scoulded dog!
Now all I need is a tune...does anyone have a used one they will sell?

Nice to hear that. I may have to do that with my truck once I get it. How hard is it to get too?

I dont know about the 5.4...it took me an hour to get it out...but its worth it!

That is your MAF sensor. DO NOT damage it! Remove the sensor by releasing it from the tube. The silencer is in there. If you look into the intake tube you will see a lip right after the rubber section. That lip is where the silencer connects to the intake tube. Pry all around the perimeter with needle nose pliers and then pull. It will work well.

The part that goes into our fender draws air into the engine from the fender. You can add a 3" coupler into your fender for additional performance.

The hose that runs to the tube, how do you take that off?
