Talking I'm in!! I got my F150!

Wow!! Okay, the dealer had one of his drivers drive me 160 miles to the dealership that had the F150 I wanted. The F150 is BIG. Well, I guess anything would be big to me, since this is my FIRST ever truck. This an XLT, SC, with an 8 foot box.. It is long!!(grin) Okay, I am a sportcar and sportbike jockey, so everything felt soft to me. The ride was nice..I could feel all the power..After about 50 miles, I felt comfortable moving the big thing around.

I had to remind myself, that I purchased this truck for the sole purpose of pulling my motorcycles around the country. If I wanted to hit corners like I do in my RX7 or RC51, then I should have bought a 350z (smile).. Anyway, I like the ride so much, I signed on the dotted line. It is my truck!! The front end had a little vibration, I think it was wheel balance, and I wanted them to clean it up, and give me a rundown on how everything works. So, I told them I would pick it up on Tuesday.

I am beaming. In fact, I might be still beaming on the way to the poorhouse too

Since I have the Heavy Payload Package, I might have a problem getting aftermarket wheels because of the 7 lugs on my 4.10 axle.. Will see.

I hate those wheels.(mad) Hate them with a passion. Come Tuesday, when I pick it, going to hook up my trailer, with both my bikes inside, and do a profile ride.. To see how much power she got in pulling..

Also, I am old school. They said I don't have to get the oil changed until 5k or 3 months. Sheesh, I told them I will be here at 700 miles for an oil and filter change, and don't want to stand in line either..

Thanks much everybody for all the help.. Now, I am going to wear you all out with question!! (grin)

Here is a crude pic from my busted camera..

Make sure you get the vibration took care of BEFORE you take the truck off the lot. And also make sure there is nothing else that needs to be fixed/adjusted that you notice. The vibration is the big one though, along with any rear end noises/clunks/abnormalities.

On that note...Congrats and welcome.

No clunks, just some vibration in the steering wheel. It smoothed out a little when I picked up speed. But, I felt the vibration an it didn't seem normal. That was one of the reasons I told them to keep the truck and I will pick it up on Tuesday.

I got a locked grin!!

You will notice that the tires get flat spots on them just from sitting overnight, due to the weight of these trucks. My tires get flat spots worse when my truck sits at work (overnight) than they do when the truck is in the garage. I think it may be temperature-related. Once the tires heat up, the flat spots go away. If the steering wheel shake stopped after a few miles, that's probably all it was.

Your choices on aftermarket rims is going to be extremely limited. Weld Wheels makes some nice wheels for the 7x150 bolt pattern, but I don't know if they make them as big as you want them. Here's the link:
