reverse sensing system on the FRONT...?

Has anyone, or can you put the reverse sensing sensors on the front bumper? I don't really know how this would work (basically I'm looking for a guinea pig), but someone should try this.

Hey DSW1000 you can put sensors on the front and they work like the rear sensing system. here is a link that sells them. It is not difficult to install. Pretty simple wiring. I had rear sensors installed and I removed them. Had problems with rain and snow and also some objects it could not detect due to their irregular or long thin shape.

These two websites should help you out. Just take your time and do the job right. It may take you longer, but you will do a better job, and if something gets broken or gets lost, you know what you need to replace. What I mean by that is.:: When you take your car to get a stereo placed or something done, they are in a hurry to get the next one in. strip the wires forget the screws, they'll say " if the customer can't see it's missing it doesn't matter" Beware that some sensors DO NOT work on steel bumpers so check this out before you decide to buy. Also remember that they have to be perfectly flush as the instructions state or they will fail. Buy a laser leveler and TAKE YOUR TIME and good measurements. Good luck.

If you're gonna get sensors on the front and back, might as well get them on the sides.

Rebar curb-feelers work great, paint them to match your truck. $10 for set of 4 at HomeDepot.

Montereys have park aid sensors on the front. I found 'em kinda pointless...hell, you can't see what's in front of you, what the hell business do you have driving?

Lexus has them as well.

Honestly, I wish I had them. Truck is still fairly new to me, and figuring how far to pull into a parking spot without hitting the car on the other side is guess work at times.

Depends on where you park. The places I park there are no curbs to stop your wheels, and there is a pole directly in front.
The poles are never straight because of the hundreds of times they have wrecked someone's front bumper.

On this truck you can not tell exactly how much room you have in front of the bumper. There is too much 'fall away' on the hood.
So you can leave the trucks rear sticking out into traffic, or you can inch forward hoping you won't hit the pole.

I put a camera under the front and on the bad ones I flip on the front view, and inch up till the pole is just visible in the screen.
Front sensors would be fine, if they can see a narrow metal pole. My rear sensors can not see a narrow pole.

Most folks who use this parking just bump it with the bumper. If you look at the car next to you in these spots, nine times out of ten they have a bent front license plate.
I don't want that. On a car with a shallow hood, or a nice big hood ornament, it's not too much problem. On this truck it is. Not a big thing, but worth putting a sensor or camera in.
Chris
