those with PIE adaptors???

I installed my PIE adapter and have been enjoying siruis.....

now i just noticed that when I have my factory radio on AUX, and shut my truck off, and then once I get back in and start it up... it always goes back to FM.....

For some reason I remember when I first installed it, that if I left it on AUX and started the truck it stayed on AUX.....

what does yours do???

You have the pie wiring in to turn off with the vehicle, when you kill the connection, it kills the aux. People have hard wired the pie so this doesnt happen.

I think ... :santa:

I have the PIE adapter as well and it always goes to PIE when I turn the vehicle on. I did hard wire it directly, so that might be why. Where did you install the Sirius tuner? I took out the cigarette lighter and used my PROFFIT mount. It sits right in front of the shifter right above the ash tray. I think it looks good instead of near the passenger vent where the instructions say it should be mounted.

Ditto.

I think this is an issue on earlier builds and the internal 'guts' of the radio. While it only says Aux, it works like a dream.

On topic... if I shut off in AUX... it comes back up in AUX.

I have considered ording PIE adapter but was concerned about how hard it was to install considering I have no experience with wiring. I was waiting for a detailed write up since I have no experience, but yet to find one. Could you guys rate how difficult it was to installed using a 5 star system with 1 star super easy and 5 star expertise needed.

Lumb-dude. Top right section of this page you'll see 'search'. Click it, fill in the words "PIE install" and then select the '04 forum and then search. Or search on P.I.E. for dummies (my install thread w/ pics). It's about a one to two star project.

1/2 star. If you ever wirde a radio in, maybe 1/4 star. Search a little deeper and there are some detailed installs.

Every once in awhile mine resorts to FM and it is hard wired.Think it happens when it doesn't get a input signal after a minute or two. In any case, minor inconvenience.

ok....now my P.I.E. adapter has started to switch over to FM when I turn off my truck.....there is no pattern to it....sometimes it switches....sometimes it does not....I will see if I can find the pattern that is making it switch....if you happen to have found the pattern already...let me know what it is....

You mean it goes right to PIE if that was the last thing you were using, right? If you were for example using AM radio, it would go back to that and not right to PIE, correct?
