Water in tail lights Question

I noticed what seems to be water around the edges top and bottom of both tail light lens it has like spotted black spots with some what seems to be condesation around those black areas. The dealer said is was sealent ,I said it not all the way around if it was sealant would it be all the around without the air bubbles. But i looked at about 10 2006 new on the lot and almost all of them have the same thing but a few did not have it. Do u guys or gals have any idea what i am talking about and what it is.. Thanks

I know what you're talking about... Mine has the condensation around the edges after precipitation however, I've never had any moisture within the assembly.... I believe this is due to where the seal for the assembly lens is located...

In short, the seal is slightly off the edge of the assembly thus allowing a slight amount of condensation to occur around the edges... I don't think it's abnormal...

Yes it around the edges top and bottom but some of the black spots have little bubbles. That sucks if it is not abnormal. It looks like crap though. Do they sell some sort of lens cover that would cover the edges Help its ugly...

Hmm... not sure I understood the original question then... not sure what you're talking about on the little bubbles and such...

Pictures?

here are some websites that sell covers for our FORDS. It may be condensation or it may be trapped air bubbles in the sealant when the light was shaped/formed/sealed. Hope some of these will help you out. Or you could just order new taillights if it doesn't work out. But that would be the last alternative. "cause i'm sure they're not cheap.Good Luck... :)

I think were on the same page but mine have started to leak already I think most the trucks on the lot have it but some didnt i think its a bad seal

Or, better yet, claim it as a warranty issue (which is exactly what it sounds like it is) and let Ford get you a new one (or two) as needed.

Best of luck bud.

My 06 had water inside the reverse light portion of my pass. brake light assembly the day they unloaded it off the carhauler

I guess I need to take it in before it blows the reverse light :D
