Not quit the response I expected to get from you Josiah.
I expected you to flame away.

Seriously though... Im sure you will love your truck either vertical direction you go: Up or down.

I'd just rather go down in height for
1. Better looks
2. Easier loading of bed
3. Better handling.

Three simple reasons.

I'll give you 2 and 3 but 1 is just a opinion.

The new style is to have trucks sit lower in the rear for some reason. I personally like it to sit level. I lifted my truck because I got tired of the skid plate and the hitch always bottoming out while on the trail to go fishing. I do you my 4x4 like a 4x4 should be used for, I have had it covered in mud.
I think 4x4 should go up and 4x2 should go down.

#1 Umm, is totally an opinion. I think trucks look better lifted...even 4x2s...makes them look indestructible.

#2...maybe...but not always...I loaded some furniture & appliances the other day from a loading dock...my truck was the perfect height for the dock...tailgate down was flush w/ the edge of the dock and we just wheeled the stuff in...NO LIFTING or LOWERING.

#3...that one just depends. I bet my lifted truck handles better offroad than you lowered truck, in the sand, in the mud, on the trails, etc... I'm also willing to bet that my lifted truck handles better on a bumpy or pot hole infested road than your lowered truck.

All I'm trying to say is...it doesn't matter what you do to your truck...be proud it is a FORD!

For what its worth I have been an avid lift member since Feb 04 and lifted the truck with 5000 miles on it in August of 04. I can tell you 20,000 miles since the lift with a good amount of offroading that the truck still turns heads, rides smooth as can be and handles like a champ offroad. To this day I have yet to see another lifted 04-05 F150 in person...
Its been the best mod, way to go Procomp with a great product.

Hey EddyG, I never see you post around here anymore. How much did your lift cost? What about that skidplate?

Man...thats crazy!!!! About not seeing another lifted 04-05 F150 in person. Here in SoCal they are a dime a dozen. You cant throw a rock without hitting one. There are more off road/truck performance stores here than there are Starbucks!!!!

That actually makes me sad. I would like the unique feeling of having a lifted 150. Nothing shoots your pride down like spending all your money on your truck, going to San Diego and having the weakest pickup there, so I hope you're kidding.

No, I'm not kidding. It is sad. I just try to be the first. I still get people stopping me, following me or just coming up to tell me I have the best looking F150 they've seen. I take that as a compliment, being all the ones around here.

Yeah once you are on here a while you see the full circle of posts. To be honest nothing really new an exciting has come out to really post about. Most of the posts are the same as when these trucks first came out.

The lift was apprx. $1300 and $400 install. Tires I got for around $400, wheels $400 (want to get new ones when the tires go). The skid plate was $200 (2 plates cover the whole front end..very worth it).

Yup no lifted new F150s around here. Its even hard to find a show quality truck. Around here the elements are a lot harsher on the trucks and most lifted guys go trail riding so they have a few battle scars (myself included). Lots of lifted jeeps and 2wd work trucks though.
