Question Need help with computer codes/airbag on 04 new style

I am repairing a new style 04 extended cab. It was in a front end collision and the airbags deployed. I have replaced the bags plus the control module, but the airbag light is still on. Do these trucks have the cinch seatbelts? Do I have to replace them also?
Also the truck computer is putting out codes "3" and "4". What do these cones represent? [one could be the SRS, I suppose]
thanks for any help.

LFC 34 is for a passenger's side pre-tensioner fault. Probably got deployed, you'll need to replace the buckle.

(standard disclaimer: I don't endorse folks working on SRS systems that aren't sure what they're doing; proceed at your own risk, and don't sue me if you get blown up.)

Ah ha. So it may not be code 3 AND code 4, it could be simply code 34. My mechanic didn't think of that. Thanks for the info. That could be it as there was a passenger in the truck at the time of accident.
So I replace just the buckle? Do I get it from Ford? Thanks

There had to be a passenger for that pre-tensioner to deploy. And yes, you can get the buckle assembly from Ford. It'll come with the buckle itself, and a thingy that looks like a cigar with a steel cable and an explosive charge inside of it; that's the pre-tensioning part.

Question

I'm back, full of questions. Is there a site where I can look up Ford trouble codes? I tried here....http://www.diablosport.com/FordDTC.php using "34" as a test. Also tried "LFC34" and nothing worked.
Also, is it really possible for a passenger side belt to deploy, and the drivers belt [assuming there was a driver] not to deploy?
THANKS

34 is not a DTC per se, it's what Ford calls a Lamp Fault Code, or LFC. LFCs are prioritized by severity and are accompanied with a B**** DTC. An airbag light that stays on constantly has the highest priority, since it indicates that there's a power or ground supply problem to the RCM. The next highest is 13, which indicates the crash memory in the RCM is full; you'll get this after an airbag deploys. LFC 34 would be DTC B2292 in the RCM. Typically, if the impact was severe enough to deploy the passenger's side pre-tensioner, then the driver's side should have went too. There may be a problem with the driver's pre-tensioner as well. LFCs are quick references to use as to where to start, there may be other DTCs hiding behind the 34 as well, without checking the RCM for codes, you won't know for sure.

Once again, THANK YOU. I have learned a lot from this problem AND your replys. The main thing I have learned is .......this is too deep of a subject for a little old bodyman/carsalesman like me! We will send the truck off to get all codes checked out.

Thumbs up

Back to my seatbelt problem...... I tried to get the codes read at a local repair shop where they "thought" their equipment was up to date. They could not read any codes, so now I have to go to the Ford dealer.
The dealer is a long ways off, and while there I need a safety inspection. The air bag light must be off to accomplish this, so to save making 2 trips, here is my question:
If I removed the seats to inspect the pre-tensioners, will I be able to see if they are deployed? Thanks in advance...............
