I was looking at the 06 F-150 today, as well as a 06 F-250...The Fx4 BFG RT T/A was a P rated tire....on the F-250 it's a Lt rated tire...tread paterns are not the same.....My Lt265 70 17 BFG are LT rated....same as the F-250...

At 9k on a set of long trails I checked their tread with a tread gauge, and they were indistinguishable from a new set. The little nubbles are worn off, and they are a lighter color, but otherwise like new. They have been rotated twice.
On trucks I usually rotate the tires every oil change.
On cars every third oil change.

Check out the reviews, an easy going F150 driver claims:
Your not going to believe this... 137,549 miles on the original set of Long Trails... and still going! The 2001 F150 has never lost its alignment or had other problems. I actually emailed BF Goodrich they told me I was in the 95% percentile in tread life expectations. I plan to change them at 150,000 miles. Dont ask what I am going to purchase LOL -- Review Submitted 2005-09-01

You've got to be kidding me.

I’m going to be thrilled if I can get 40K; so far, at 27K they still have life

Sounds improbable, but I helped my nephew buy a Cadillac with Michelins on it.
It had 78k and the tires were in nice condition, not new but lots of tread.
In going through the paperwork I found the tires had been put on it at the dealership, when he optioned some really killer wheels at delivery.

The serial numbers matched.

This guy had commuted from Saugus to LA for four years and the tires were excellent. He had them rotated every 6000. My nephew drove them for a year and they looked much the same at 100k, but I talked him into putting on new ones. I didn't like the thought of the sidewalls going out. The new tires, same number did handle a LOT better, so the old tires were pretty darn hardened.
Still, tires can last a LONG time if you don’t abuse them.

I ran the stock generals on my STX for 57K, still had a few thousand left in them, but were starting to crack in the center of the tread, so replaced em with Pro-Comp Xterrains.

Some tires are just garbage. I dont 'turn fast :P' in my pickup truck. Even the centers are worn too far for only 9k (now 10k). The rears (now up front after 10k mile service) are wearing evenly but they're losing tread quickly too. I drive like 1.2mi to/from work 5 days a week and the rest of my driving is a lot of highway. Thats how I put 10k miles down in 17 months. Continental ContiTrac btw. And they freakin squeal in parking lots and scare old ladies and mothers when I'm only turning into my parking space at 3mph.

Im at about 35,000 with the stock michelins. I really like them. I hope to get 40,000 out of them before I have to replace. They cost about $180 per tire. Yikes!

My truck came with the BF Goodrich Radial Long Trail T/A P265/60R18. To date, the tires have 28,456 miles on them and so far so good. I rotate front to back at approximately 6K intervals, which is every other oil change. Obviously, they don’t look new anymore but they are wearing evenly

They have a 6-year prorated warranty / estimated miles 40 to 60K (which don’t mean diddly squat) and this is how they’re rated

Treadwear - 500
Traction – A
Temperature – B
Speed – T (118mph)
Tread Depth – 11.5

Right now, the jury’s still out Mr. Goodrich

BF Goodtires

My 04 SCREW Lariat has 44K on BF Goodtires with a good amount of tread left. I'm hoping for 60, but that won't take long. I rotate every other oil change.

I am in the same boat as BFGoodtire. I have about 44k on mine and I imagine that I can easily get to 60k and maybe 65k as I still have good tread left. I rotate about every 6k miles.

Currently my 04 F150 has the stock Hancok tires which have about 60% tread life remaining and the odometer has clocked just over 40K miles.

These are not a LT tire so I only expected them to last around 25K and promised myself that when they wear out I'll get a set of BFG A/Ts. At the rate its going that won't be for another 3 years

BTW I put a set of the BFG Long Trail T/As on a Jeep Cherokee (XJ) and those tires were still brand new after 5 years and 60K miles which is when I sold it. The Long Trail T/A have a tread rating of 500 which is the best in the industry. Not much for off-road traction but tread life is astounding.
