Anyone get the PMP when you bought your new truck?

When I purchased my truck on June 13, 2005 there were several packages the dealer offered. The one I did get was the premeire maintanence package or plan (PMP) which including getting 7 free oil changes and 7 free tire rotations and balances. This was only $5 bucks more a month. I found out later that my truck had to be over 5,000 miles in order for Ford to pick up the tab.

Has anyone hear bought this package when u bought your new triuck? If so have you had any bad dealer experiences when you brought it in?

Just wondering.

Thanks in advance.

I did not buy it but my dealer does my oil changes and the tire rotations I don't do myself. So far, they have done just fine.

I got one with my truck. Was good for 2yrs/24000 miles. However, they only would do the oil changes every 5000 miles. I think they use semi-synthetic but if that's too many miles just take it to the dealer every other time for free.
I also have a lifetime powertrain warranty but doubt I'll ever use that. I'm a notorious trader about ever 2 years.

My dealer honors a 10year 100,000 mile warranty if my truck is serviced by them every service. Which is fine by me because they would be the ones doing it anyway.

$5 per month for how long? 60-months? So $300 for 7 oil changes and tire rotations is a bit steep.....anyway it's to late now. You should be fine going to the dealear for the service. 5k is just fine for oil changes....don't get caught up with the artificial 3000 mile oil-change hype created by the quick-lube joints. I heard it all.....it's "cheap piece of mind" for one is bull! It wastes natural resources and lines the pockets of the oil industry and the ARAB Opec nations

I guess that $42.00 for an oil change and tire rotation is ok. It's just the finance charges that bother me. I'm glad I passed on that.

We got it on our new Explorer. Was barely 4 bucks per month and they cover ALL factory scheduled maintenance through 35,000 miles (not just oil changes and tire rotations). Trust me, you'll be glad you bought it when you see what they recommend you do at 30,000 miles.

i have the same thing on mine except its 3 year/36k and yea they do alot of crap i wouldnt have done that soon lol. but mine was like $300 almost half off after you add up what all they do like air filters/ fuel filter. change trany fluid and they check everything every 3k miles like tire wear, fluids and crap like that. i think its pretty nice. but since i got a 92 honda civic hatchback (40 mpg) for a daily driver my truck gets drove like 4 times a month maybe

I have a beater car also, I average 22-25k miles a year and with my truck I just turn 1k after 3.5 months. I do about 1k in 2 weeks with the better. The dealer told me the 15k check up cost a lot and they through that in.
