I got a 4" by 9" by 14" Body, 2-1/2" O/O (part#11236) Magnaflow and it’s not excessively loud at all. It always has a good V8 rumble and really spouts off when I floor it but no cabin drone at any speed, freeway cruising or around town. Never had a Flowmaster so I can’t compare

Had the flowmaster then went with a 14in Magnaflow, but it was SIDO. Its got a very deep mellow tone and you know when you step on it. The Flowmaster was too raspy and popped on decel. I really like the magnaflow, and no loss of torque.

Yeah, I have a flowmaster FM 40 and it sounds decent, but pops like mad if you rev the motor up when in park...and you can hear it a little bit upon deceleration especially if driving with O/D off. I may try switching to a Magnaflow in the future to see if I like it better, but for now I can live with the Flowmaster.

I just put on a Flowmaster 50 SUV SISO. I am not hearing any popping sound on start up or deceleration.

When I had it installed, the muffler shop guy here in Hawaii showed me the difference between the normal 50 and 50 SUV. The SUV is definately bigger(thicker but not really longer). Commenting on the quality of the sound is completely subjective but I feel the low end rumble is great. The Flowmaster website has great soundclips.

Another thing the muffler guy commented on is the tip can act as a megaphone if it gets too big. I am not exactl sure what that means. Probably 4" or bigger.

Popping sound is usually caused by pinhole air leaks in front of the muffler.

jpdadeo,

Thanks for posting the muffler deminsions as I was able to order the Stainless Magnaflow for $79.85. Big savings from muffler shop pricing. I just ordered the SS 4x9x14, 20 inches overall for my S'Crew.
