wood dash

got a new switch put in the dash today, but when i got back home, i noticed that the bottom left corner, right above the ashtray doesnt seem to want to snap back into place, it sits flush with the silvery plastic, like you cant really tell its lost, but if i open up the ash tray, i can pull the bottom part of the center wood dash out about an inch, how can i fix this or snap it back into place, it doesnt seem to want to go so im wondering if im doing something wrong here. normally i would just take it back and be like hey, this is still loose, but i got everything installed about an hour away from here, so...anyway, can you guys help me

Sounds like one of the clips came loose. You can try and peel off the trim and check the back of it but it might not be worth it if its not noticeable. Hopefully this helps you a bit.

Later,

I would pull the entire panel off and make sure all the clips are mounted to the panel and not stuck in the little locks that are mounted in the dash..(does that makes sense??) But when you pull the panel off, you'll see what I mean. It happens to me everytime I pull mine off.

Like said earlier pull the panel off an make sure everything is right. I had mine apart last night and I had to use a lot of pressure to get it to snap back in.

Exactly what Brewdude said.

I had the exact same thing happen to me. Same left bottom clip! When the center of the dash is pulled off, half the clip stays in the bezel, and the other half (usually) remains in the dash surround. When you start to press the bezel back in place, sometimes the clip halves in the dash surround will push back too far and then not be seated correctly to accept the half of the clip that is still attached to the bezel.

I found if this does happen, it is best if you pull the metal half of the clip out of the dash surround and snap together both halves of the clips while attached to the bezel. Then press the bezel with the whole clip back onto the dash.

Kind of tough to explain without pictures.

I was lucky enough to break one of those precious clips. Has anyone had one replaced or had to buy one?
