Correlation between brake problems and wheels?

Has anybody noticed, or checked to see if their OEM wheels are straight, when checking for warped rotors problems? I hope to get to my brakes this weekend, and it occurs to me that the OEM chrome wheels, that came on my XLT, don't look all that great, and with the pressed steel center, they don't look like they would be very stiff. Makes me wonder if that could be part of the brake rotor/steering shake problem. Anybody?

In answer to the question regarding brakes and vibration with wheels its a mystery to ford. Engineers do not have a solution. Bought my truck 2 weeks ago and has been in the ford shop 7 days. Truck has less that 200 miles. They are not saying much so I wait without its use for my work.

The 17" rims that came on my '04 XLT are straight, so are the Lariat rims i replaced them with.
If you know anyone looking for the '04 rims on Michelins send em my way, there in my garage.
