Your attitude was well established before you got the first flame. The way you started this thread is what got you the rolled eyes and laughter. You could easily have presented your case less abrasively. When you pepper your messages with "pointless", "dumbass", "ASSume", etc. You come off as a young punk who hasn't been taught basic social skills. Take the high road and you'll get what you need much quicker in this forum and in life.

None of this would have happened if those that had nothing helpful to post refrained from posting. No matter how arrogant or annoying anyone may have perceived his post to be, it strikes me as petty and ridiculous that someone with such an impression would take a moment out of their day to reply. If there were ever a moment to reinstate (I am assuming it was once functional) the private message system on this forum, it is now. Then this childish bantering could stay exactly where it should stay - in private.

Seriously, people... Let's cut it out and keep this post on topic so that others that might be similarly situated may benefit from the on-topic information that has been discussed in this post.

I don't want to be a moderator. I just don't want the time and effort that I put into responding to a fellow members question to go to waste. I was hoping that my somewhat definitive response would implicitly vindicate the opening poster.

But let me add, if I were moderator, I would have immediately deleted any off-topic posts (deleting the whole post damages the opening poster more than anyone), suspended posting privilages of those members whose posts were antagonistic in nature for at least 1 week, and I would have apologized for the otherwise lack of hospitability shown towards a new member with a legitimate question. Of course, I would also have to consider whether this is an appropriate forum to discuss legal matters to begin with. Now I am getting even more off topic.
