No Way on the longer bed! if they only made the Supercrew with the 6.5 ft bed I would have got the Supercab instead to keep the overall length reasonable

 

i think it depends on what your going to do with your truck...if your going to offroad it alot....the length of the truck would be rediculous.....however if your gonna use it as a highway queen then yeh it would be a nice practical truck all around...plenty of room for people and stuff.....not to mention how cool it would look lowered 2 or 3 inches with a nice tire and wheel combo!

 

looks too good with the 5.5ft - 6.5ft screw would look too long for me, why not just buy a 250-350 if you have a 150" WB... at least that way you could buy a diesel.

Nope!!! Went from an Expy to the Screw. the Expy would turn circles around the screw. much easier in the parking lots. Would not want the longer bed. Besides if I have to pick up something long at Lowes, I take my old 72 with the 8 foot bed.

 

Yes and no. I bought a X-cab over a SCAB so I can get a 6.5 bed so that I can actually use my bed for things. I would have bought a SCrew with a 6.5 bed if it was offered.

Now, No. Reason is the SCrew and RCAB doors are shorter then the SCAB. I dont like this because it puts my arm at a funny angle when resting it on the window ledge.

Plus if you measure the SCREW and SCAB cabs there is roughly 6-8" more interior space, which is not worth a extra G to me.

 

I agree about the door length...really screwy resting your arm on the door/window.

 

No way - I really like the 5.5'. For me, it's just a big trunk (I had a bedrug and tonneau cover installed) and even my wife can't fill it up with luggage on trips. Always room to take the Pings and it fits nicely in the garage, I just don't need a larger bed, even after always having 8 foot beds.

 

No, to the long bed.

All I ever carry is 'air' so the 5.5 works great for that.

 

5'5" bed gets the job done for me. I don't think an extra foot would help me out much but cause me more parking grief. If I need the extra room, the bed extender gets the job done. But too each his own.

 

2006 F-150 brochures just came in yesterday at dealers in my area. Just for information: The specifications for the 6.5' box SuperCrew are: length overall 235.8", and wheelbase 150.5". Availability still says winter 2006 model year.

 

No........thats what my bed extender is for.........and with the 5.5 I can park in the garage.

 

The 6.5' bed on a Screw makes for a pretty long truck. So far, I found that parking my Screw with the 5.5' bed is much easier than any of my Ext-cab Chevy's with the 6.5' bed. I know the overall wheelbase and length of the truck is shorter than my previous ones and it definetly shows. If I used my truck for work or hauled large items often, I might have considered it. For my use, the 5.5' bed works out great.

 

i am more than happy with the 5.5' bed. I would not opt for the 1' longer bed.
