I have an 05 FX4 that I put a 2.5 autospring level kit on and new rims and tires. 325/60/18's. Never had any problems with it so far. I have had the level kit and tires on for maybe 2500 miles now. Yesterday I started to feel and hear a kind of shuttering from the front. At first it sounded like my shock was loose, but I took a quick look at the shock and spacer and it looked like everything was still tight. I didnt put any locktite on them cause I was told not to. But I also realized it kind of does it just when I start the motor. And when I am going extremely slow on very smooth roads. I can feel it in the gas pedal as well. I just had it in the shop for a noise in the rear end and I dont want to go back already with something else. Do you think I should tear apart the front end agian and make sure everything is nice and snug? and or should I put locktite on the three bolts on top of the coilover? Thanks in advance.

Check the top shock mount (bolt or nut?? Ive never done it), its probably loose

Its the top 3 bolts on the shock tower.

 

I think I found it. It was the damn intake. The bracket broke and it was shaking. Come to find out it was the wrong intake. It was for the 04 not the 05. But the intake is the same however. Who knows. it is for sale now though.
