my truck is lowered in the back, and i just hauled around a 71 maverick, 72 gran torino, and a 65 galaxie. with the trailer i was pulling 8000 lbs, and it did squat a little, but nothing crazy. for me its worth it to have the lowered rear, and its somewhat for looks, but mostly for handling and ride quality. for the amount of times i actually load down my truck, its worth the trade to have it squat a few times

Matt 05'FX4:
Can the 4x4 u-bolts be cut, instead of using the 2wd bolts? Thanks.

That is only possible if you add a few inches of thread to them with a die (from a tap and die kit) because if you have a look at em, the threads only go up for a few inches and if you whack off that 2 inches, there will no threads left. But yes, this is very possible and almost what I did, but I wanted the option to change back if ever needed and wanted to keep my old stuff.

Looks good. Air bags would be the solution for loads. I'd rather have my truck level all the time than the occasional 1,000 lb. load.
