fx4 and bilsteins

been ready alot on these bilsteins...my question is..will they make my fx4 ride even stiffer than it already does? All the plastic in my truck creaks when i drive over a painted line !!And the rear gets real squirrely going over choppy roads. I don't know why they call it "off road" package, except the suspension is so stiff you can't really go faster than crawling over rough terrain.Do these shocks soften up the jolts?

I think they would... but that is also largely a component of the springs. I ordered the Bilsteins today and should have them installed in a few weeks. I will let you know how it rides over the stock suspension when i get them. But, They will be going in along with an autospring in the front and an add a leaf in the rear. So i might not be able to tell what the shocks actually did.

The Bilsteins will take care of the squirrly read end, and give you more control as they are more responsive than the OEM. They felt stiffer to me over the small bumps, but the truck handles significantly better. In summary, Bilsteins will not soften up your ride, but you will enjoy driving your truck. The only issue I have had with them is the rubber boot makes a vibration noise against the shock.

thanks for the reply...i have daystar upfront and 325/60 18 nittos and the ride was fairly soft and smooth with new terras, but as they age they are getting like "flintstone mobile" tires...the ride is rock hard...someone stated "driving over manhole covers drives him mad"...i would tend to agree. will be looking forward to your comments of the bilsteins.

I think they're only a TAD bit firmer, but they definitely absorb bigger sudden jolts 100x better than the stock ones. And by a tad bit firmer, the truck doesn't caddy-roll around corners...
