Ford Family Pricing

A dealer has found an FX4 for me that is what I have been looking for.
Have you guys found that the Ford Family Plan plus the $3000 rebate is the final price? That's what this dealer is telling me, I don't want to argue since he is a friend of a friend and he was nice enough to introduce me. The guy at the dealership is the owner of the dealership so I don't want to give him a bad taste and potentially affect his dealings with the mutual friend.
Anyway, what have you guys found when buying a new truck under this Family Plan?

Dan

that would probably be the price, unless you can negotiate a lower offer... family plan base, plus the rebate sounds correct though- also your rebates are going to be determined by trim levels and such-so put that into account. good luck on the purchase!

Don't forget the stealership has about $1250 dealer holdback on the sale of the vehicle. They are making plenty of money on the deal. Negotiate lower!

its the final price. You may want to get a couple of different bids on your trade though...just FYI.

Come on now, it's an automobile, it's always negotiable. I wish they were sold out of vending machines and the price was the price. Then of course you could just go buy the same thing at the store cheaper.

This is employee pricing Cheif. People are getting the same deals that retired and current autoworkers get. You think they negotiate? NOT
Get real.

I have no idea what autoworkers get for a discount. It's all marketing hype, Family Pricing, rebate, ect, so that's why I am getting others input on their dealings. Research.

I think the employee pricing plan is just another sales gimmic. Next month it will be clearing out the 05's to make room for the 06's. I called this August carryover of employee pricing.

It's pretty simple, as you get closer to the next model year prices will be lower. Dealers have a lot of wiggle room.

Here's what I did. I ordered my truck (lariat) so I was able to compare apples to apples (almost). I went and got a price for a dodge (larime) and from another Ford dealership. They did the normal pressure thing but I just showed them my lease was up in 3 months and I will be getting another truck. The dodge guy really wanted to sell me a truck and he was $65.00/ month cheaper. The other Ford dealership was about the same price as my dealer. I told my dealership that I will not pay more for a Ford and I will buy the dodge and that's all there was to it (not). My dealer would have none of that and lowered the purchase price in the lease so the payments would match the Dodge.

The price he is offering is the price, and it's a fair one. I love how some of the "experts" here like to chime in about the holdback. Holdback is money paid to a dealer to help offset the cost of FLOORING (the interest a dealer pays for his outstanding debt on vehicles still on his lot) Dealers that floor with Ford get 90 days from the date the vehicle is invoiced free of interest charge. After the 90 days you pay interest just like on a charge card. The flooring money from all vehicles recieved in a certain month is paid during that month, and that money is used by the dealer towards the flooring cost for the same month. If a dealer breaks even at the end of the year, they did a great job managing inventory. But, if inventory isn't moving, the flooring can kill you. Example, we had a very high inventory at our dealership, so we didn't take many vehicles during the Ford wholesale. Just a few vehicles came in so very little flooring money was available that month. The flooring bill came in for the in stock units and it was $60K. OUCH!! We had to actually start ordering new vehicles that we really didn't need just to keep flooring money coming in. Rob from Peter to pay Paul!! One thing finally fixed our high inventory. THE FORD FAMILY PLAN promotion.

This program has cost dealers and especially the sales personel quite a bit of money. Ford is making out OK though since they lowered a number of the rebates to offset the A-Plan commission they are paying back to the dealers.

Sorry for the long response, but it kills me when people are getting like $9,000 of MSRP on Super Duty trucks and still asking for more.

I'm very curious to see what's going to happen to new car sales when the big three stop the employee price for everyone plans.

No problem chief. I didn't even really know how that whole HOLD BACK thing worked until I had been in the Fleet Department for a little over a year. Been at the same dealership almost 4 years now. I've even sold a couple trucks to some of the members here on F-150 Online. Great bunch of guys.
