Just bought my 05 XLT super crew with the Ford family and the $3000 rebate a week ago. I hemmed and hawed enough with the dealer that he dicounted the price of the warranty a third and somehow lowered my interest rate by half percent over waht he had originally stated i qualified for. So overall, he lowered it twice before I bought.
Though the price of the truck itself was never lowered there are ways to save!

I bought my 2005 XLT SuperCrew 4x4 last month at the Family Price with the $3000 rebate, plus another $500 for being a college student, and then another $200 off so I wouldn't go down the street and buy a different truck at another Ford dealership. My salesman even offered to transfer the other truck I was looking at from the other dealer and take $200 off of it.

And you know this because.........? you just might happen to work in the payroll department at Ford???

after I went back to the dealer for some warranty work I asked him about the emplyee pricing and if I would have gotten better deal if I would have waited. Employee pricing on my truck was around 20,300.... I paid 19,500.

HOWEVER. The big difference is that I went to approximatly six dealers in the Houston area to search for the best deal. When I found the best deal it was the perfect truck..... but red was not my first choice of color. Since it was a good deal I took it (and happy with my decision).

With the Family Plan you get on the phone..... find your truck (perfect color, options, etc) and buy it. If you really want to haggle go ahead, you may get $500 bucks or so knocked off, but most importantly get the truck you want..... the family pricing is a fair deal.

And by the way.......... he said pricing went up after they announced the family plan. Went up end of last year also.

I say it's a fair deal.............. but I'll change my mind if they keep hiking the price up. Kinda like one of those stores that have the "HALF OFF!!!!!!" sticker on something only to find out they doubled the price before they put the sticker on it.

I also expect the bottom to fall out of the new and used car market. Anyone buying used cars will be able to get one dirt cheap here real soon. New cars sales will have to eventually DIE.

Also, this family plan has killed the resale value of our vehicles.

Good looking truck (!), not sure about the price but I bet you're happy. I am still looking for my perfect truck @ $23k ($23,500 tops). I found this one but they won't take it for that, they're very stingy. I offered $24,999 and they wouldnt budge, they keep relisting it and they hardly get offers.

Here is what I've been looking for (for months I have looked EVERYWHERE):
2004 4x4 F150 (must have 4wd)
Trim: Lariat Supercrew
Color: Black
Interior Color: Black

Options:
Moon/Sunroof
Power Sliding Rear Window

I rarely find that truck without those options. I live in Manteca, CA 95336. If anyone helps me find this truck and I end up getting it, I swear I'll send you a crispy $100 dollar bill. If you find partial matches (tan interior or no sliding rear window) let me know and I'll still send you that money if I get it.

For $50:
Silver or Black Fx4 Styleside Supercrew
Must Have:
Sunroof
Power Sliding Rear Window (if they have that option in fx4's, if not then nvm)

Too bad you don't live in Florida. I've found plenty of them.

I'll offer 1k less than my price to compensate for shipping, so if you found one in florida that matches my complete Lariat description, link me thump I look for them everywhere, on ebay, cars.com, dealership search queries, local listings and when I do search for them on ebay and cars.com I search country-wide. I can get the vehicle to CA for about 1k, registration fees, etc are almost another 1k but I don't deduct that from my offer in any way.

Remember, it's a black, 4x4, Lariat with black interior, sunroof and a power sliding rear window. That's it! It can be black on tan, or black on black, don't care.
