why would you want to do that? The cruise should maintain your speed going up a hill. If you need extra power, turn off the O/D for the incline and then turn back on once you have completed the hill.

We took a 9300 mile trip this summer with our F150 XLT (not lariat). We averaged 16.8. Best was around 20. Worst was 13.8 (South Dakota, 80mph, headwind). 5.4l engine. Like yours, our speedo is off about the same amount but the odo is right on the money. We also tested it with GPS. Like you, we have commented how the miles went by effortlessly - and we did get to go through some canyon twisties - one of them an accidental offroad experiment that came from trusting the GPS!

If the HU says FL and it played from the front left, wouldn't that mean that it's wired correctly? The only way it couldn't be wired correctly is if the text that comes up on the HU was programmed incorrectly as well. Like if it says FL, plays front left but should really be front right. Seems highly unlikely. Maybe your speakers at home, or wherever you usually listen to that CD are backwards.
If the output from the CD or radio is wired in reverse into the amplifier in the unit, it would play out of the opposite speaker. The walk around is more than likely just adjusting the amp portion of the head unit. Another example would be if you reverse the RCA jacks coming out of the CD player in your stereo, home or car, and then change your balance on the main unit. It will say left, play out of the left, but will actually be playing the right side of the stereo program. Hope that made sense.
