UPDATED! Hella 4000s are on, sorta....NEW PICS

I finally decided on which lights to add on my brushguard and I went with the Hella 4000 Metal series in the Eurobeam pattern. After speaking with Frank at 4wheel parts, the eurobeam which is supposed to be a pencil/driving light combo, filled the bill. I haven't wired them yet, probably get around to doing that on Friday but I did mock them up on the Westin for some pics.

I'll update this weekend with photos of the install and some later of the light pattern. See the mods section of my gallery for the current pics.

Now I just need to decide what I want to put out back.

What's your thinking on the wiring? On with the highs with a switch to disable?

Thanks for the compliments.

As far as the wiring goes, the harness came with a lighted toggle switch so I'm going to stick with independent operation.

SafetyDaveG, how did you get the camera icon next to your username? From looking at your gallery, I definatley won't be asking JR's to do the wiring. Glad to see they made things right.

A quick off-topic question but how much was your UWS toolbox?

To be honest, I don't know how I got the little camera icon. It must be one of the boxes I checked when I set up the gallery.

RE JR's: Yeah after I got blown off by the shop, I sent a 4/5 page letter with pictures to the president of the company. Got a call from the shop 2 days later..... "Mr. G, please come on in."

Although they made their installation right, I am not impressed with Leer's "Top of the line cap". Specifically, the rear window. The fitting between the window and the tailgate is lousy. The tailgate has a slight curve, the glass is straight and rests directly on the top of the tailgate. And geez, did they drill enough holes in it? 2 for hinges, 2 for lift pistons, 2 for latches and 1 for the handle. The ARE cap only has one (handle), everything else attached to a frame which, I guess, is glued to the interior of the glass.

If you go to your userCP, then in the left hand bar click on edit profile. There is an option at the bottom of this page where you can enter your gallery number, and once you put the number in and save this will place the little camera icon in the header of your post, and then people can view your gallery that way. Hope this helps!

They're wired up w/new pics

Finally finished wiring up the Hella 4000's. Review, they're extremely bright and well made. I really like the fact you can aim them by loosening the two lower *****. The switch also looks as close to factory as I've seen and a nice compliment to the interior.

Pics of the lights, wiring and switch are in my "mod" gallery.

Yes and they are extremely bright. I had to go to my shop to find a level piece of ground to aim the lights and took a short trip down dove field. Extremely bright and I'm really glad I went with the Eurobeam. The patter is much like a driving beam but with a far reaching pencil beam in the middle. Can't wait to really use them this deer season.
