Just purchased the Tan Mark LT Shifter

Well I just purchased the tan Mark LT shifter and the leather matches perfectly with the tan 05 leather. I talked the parts guy down to $41.99 before it was ordered and then when it came in yesterday I looked at the top and was not happy. The chrome top piece had at least 15 pitting type marks on it.

Can I use the top off my current chrome shifter? They look pretty close to the same. If that would work then I’ll tell him that I’ll keep it if he reduces the price for damages to the shifter or just have him get me another one.

How is the Mark LT shifter different than the tan and chrome Lariat shifter?

I see. Thanks Thumper. I think I will save my money. I have enough leather to keep clean.

It looks REALLY sharp though and I'll install it on Thursday and take pics if I can get ahold of one without the scratches on top or if my current chrome top will fit.

That would look really sharp. I'd give it a shot at wrapping it yourself if you can find the leather. It can't be that hard or expensive to do.

On a side note, I'm going to start pouting if nobody has the answer to this question. Will the chrome cap from my Lariat shifter work, instead of using the Mark LT chrome cap? I just don't want all those pit marks on top of a really nice leather shifter.

Since when did the Lariat come with a tan and chrome shifter? I thought they were all chrome and grey???

F150 Duke, the original cap will not fit on the LT shift handle, I tried this to no avail. The chrome cap diameter is larger then the new handle. I even tried to dremel some of the cap down.

I am sure you are right since you have a Lariat. I guess I was thinking it was tan like the interior. I have only had the truck 3 days and now it is in getting the lift so I can’t check but I guess I have not looked at everything yet that closely. Sorry for the mistake.

Long since done, like March or something (before purpony figured out how to gut the LT handle.) I used black leather for my FX4, but you could use Castano for your King Ranch.

Leather wrapped shifter thread

Cheers

F150 Duke does it look exactly like our shifter now? I mean as far as size etc, does it look like a bolt on affair? If so, I will order one asap!

It's a bolt on affair after you dremel out the insides. Do a search and you'll see a wealth of information and pictures about people who have already done it with the black Mark LT shifter. The tan one is the exact same to install, just an extra $40 from the dealer.
