No Instructions with Volant

Well my Volant Intake came in yesterday and to my surprise...no installation instructions. Now, I have read that Volant's instructions are vague, but I want to know if I have everything I need for the installation. Does anyone have a copy of the instructions they could e-mail me? Or just tell me how the airbox mounts...that is what is confusing me The rest is common sense. I appreciate it. Volant#19754 04-05 F-150 5.4L

i dont have the directions, but its pretty simple to do. there are a few bolts for the airbox, but i just used one, lined it up just to hold it from moving. the rest is a hose, a MAF and some hose clamps

I also just got mine yesterday and it didn't come with anything but a diagram, but I got it installed in about 30 minutes. I only used one of the bolts for the box too. Did yalls come with that piece of weather stripping? I didn't see that on the diagram, so I didn't know where that went. I will say that I love the way the truck sounds with the new intake. I will get some pics up of it when I clean up the engine bay. I didn't want to get ripped on for it being so dusty.

Did your airbox have three mounting holes? Mine has three mounting holes drilled in the bottom. Also the rubber trim piece goes around the opening of the airbox at the fender to seal it tight. I'm not gonna put it on though.

When I got mine, it had only the diagram & hardware. I found it to be a VERY easy, simple install...about 45min (10 of which was spent "fighting" the box down into place).

Once mounted, I was VERY impressed with how it was engineered to fit the vehicle (no clearance issues), and also VERY impressed with the "a$$ dyno" results. Better throttle response & improved mid-range, nice low-tone growl at WOT, and no "hissing" noises at part throttle/low RPM's.

Word of caution...I did get P171 & P174 codes, but they went away after a few driving cycles.

Let me know how you like the Volant? i'm in the market for a CAI but I am scared of the noise from the AF1 and Airaid. Dont want it to overtake the sound of my Magnaflow SISO.

the volant is a bit noisy, but after talking to a tech, he told me to cover the bottom hole with a PVC pipe cap or something, and it should be quieter but not affect performance

Well, here are some pics before and after Volant:

When you say cover the bottom hole, do you mean the one that is for the optional ram air tube? What did you do with the 2 other mounting holes?

yes the optionl ram air hole can be covered according to volant, i havent tried it yet but i may today. i didnt even mess with the toher mounting holes, i just used the one farthest back and towards the drivers side. that way i can remove the WHOLE box assy with one bolt, like i had to do when installing the efans. also, the easiest way to get the box it, point it down, intake tube hole up, and slide it down and turn at the same time. it will hang on that little fuse box a bit but it will go past and fit like a glove.

im very happy with the quality of mine, but ive got one of the very first models, so i dont have a lid as fancy as that, and "Volant" is not printed on my air intake tube

Well, I got up early this morning and installed the intake. It took me awhile, but I am a perfectionist...tried to hide the screw on the clamps the best I could. Anyway, the install went fairly well. I too only used one bolt to mount the airbox. I went to my local home improvement store and found rubber plugs to put in the other two mounting holes...look in the specialty hardware section. IMO the intake is not very loud at all...just right. On my test drive I was headed up the road...there was a guy mowing his lawn with his back toward me. So I punched it and he abruptly turned around..hahaha. So its enough to get one's attention. Thanks for all the help and advice everyone has given me. It was greatly appreciated.
