What I did with my new console.

I bought a "flow through" console off of ebay. I have been trying to figure out what I wanted to do with it since i got it about 3 months ago. I finally figured it out and this is what I came up with. What do ya'll think? It should be covered this weekend. I got some black vinyl fom a fabric store. It matches the rest of the console perfectly. More pics in my gallery. https://www.f150online.com/galleries...w.cfm?num=1271

wanna sell one? I got the same console. until I find a wrecked FX4 that I can steal the dash out of. Oh, the shifter hole. I'm planning on flush mounting this there.

Looking at that head unit, I notice it has the exposed feed hole. I think you might want one that does not have the open feed hole, as from previous experiance, I can tell you it will 'suck up' a lot of dirt/dust just sitting there. There are many fine units that close and protect the feed hole.
Nice looking unit though.

current status of my custom work

Need to find some black seat covers too now.

also need something to fill the gap between console and dash on top

And chris, do you know of a model that will accept a verticle mount that

does not have the exposed feed hole? I'm not too keen on having a tray

open and close if you know what I mean.

Edited, removed img tag so's not to mess with thread look

is the same darn thing. I looked around and didn't see anything with the flip open face, except the Inovatek (which is not a good quality DVD) And of course the Pyle, which I have never messed with.
That price is what makes it a good deal. Lots of good units, for another 50-100 bucks. Not fair to compare em.

Maybe you could fashion a strip of something or other to keep dirt out?
I have had three 'face up' systems in thirty years. All were totally cool mounting places, but all eventually had dirt problems. And my car is ALWAYS clean.
Best of luck, and have fun
Chris

Asinatra, learn something about computers, please. My monitor is probably a lot bigger than yours (Ain't gonna talk about other things being bigger) and the pictures are over sized to the point it's annoying.
Monitor size has jack to do with it.

Or perhaps you should follow the guide lines, etiquette and protocols.
The suggestion that 'just don't read the thread' implies that each thread should be private, and thus not a public forum. Note the name at the top...

As to resolution, nope. Not the issue. If you increase your resolution till this picture is nominal, then every other web page, program, etc. will be out of proportion.

Just for fun, I ran it out to 2048x1536 and it was still too large. Anyone claiming that they can see it fine, and still read the print that is also a part of the forum is full of bat fewments.
