AF1 received and installed!!
Nice quality kit and boy can I feel the difference in performance!! Feels stronger throughout the rpm range and the 1st to 2nd "after shift lag" feels much improved as well. No CEL as of yet and it runs real well with my Magnaflow SIDO (rear exit) exhaust. I have only driven about 30 miles so far and I like it!!
Gene if you get around to reading this - thanks very much for helping me out getting the AF1!! |
Good to hear! I'm thinking about ordering the SIDO Roush offroad exhaust and the AF1 intake. I'll probably hold off for a while before doing the tuner. Good to hear some positive reports on the AF1! :rocker:

Sweet! How about some pics?

How long did it take you to get your intake from Troyer?

I got mine and installed it yesterday too. it sure looks nice. the quality was all good except the hole on the iner tube was offset either cut too small or offset some so my air flow wouldn't fit. I have heard of others who have had this issue too. I just dremeled out the hole and it worked fine. also the tube for the breather hose was mounted on the bottom of the AF1 tube. it was mounted on the side in the directions. I had to practically stretch the stock breather tube to get to fit. other than that it all went together real nice. no cel yet but only took it on 2 short drives yesterday. today I plan on a few more short drives. I can definitely feel the differance in power. I seem to barely have to touch the excelorator to get the same power I used to at 1/4 throttle. I was actually plesentely suprised at how well it excelorated. I think the AF1 and the magnaflow si/do go well together. I now have both and can really say I am happy with the performance and sound. I have still not decided on if I will get me a tuner yet. if so it will be down the road. my next mod will be efans. I snapped one pic and put it in my gallery. I will try to post it here but haven't figured out how to yet.

The pipe looks different too. It's bent at a different point-check it out.

the tube don’t even look the same size
could it possibly be camera angle? https://www.f150online.com/galleries...981-128764.jpg https://www.f150online.com/galleries...691-128016.jpg Edited the layout of the pics, side-by-side is to wide |
Could one of the tubes be installed backwards?
|
it dose look slot differant. looks like they either made some changes or sent me the wrong one. I think the tube looks bigger in diameter becouse your pic is more of a close up. It won't mount the other way arround. plus the maf is in the same spot just the breather tube is in a differant spot on the bottom of the tube. it dose look like it is bent a little different. might be just the angle of the shot. anyhow different or not it seems to be working great. I wander if they made a design change because of all the cels people were getting. either way I am vary happy with it
|
it is backwards, look at the logo on the tube.
|
It's not backwards. It is a different design. If it were turned around the MAF sensor and breather tube would not have enough length to reach their connections.
|
its not backwards if I flip it arround the mounting spot for bolting to the bracket ends up on top of the tube. I tried it.
