Regarding display in meters, I shopped a couple of very similar looking units that displayed in meters. You cannot toggle these, as best I'm aware.

TX150
That is the same guy I bought it from, but the kit that I purchased included the display, whereas it's just offered as an optional add-on in this auction. Looks like the same thing, bundled in a different configuration.

txnole,
If i dont buy the LED display, is there a separate speAker for the beeper? If so, how do you turn it off? Looks great! I park in a crowded deck and this thing would make backing out of my spot a lot less nerve racking.

In looking at the pictures on that auction, the unit without the display must have a seperate speaker. In this picture:

there is a large disc shaped unit that wasn't included with mine. I'm guessing that's the speaker.

That being said, the LED display is awesome.

Mine is in Meters. When I did it a bout 4 months ago I couldn't find one in feet. Mine looks exactly the same except it's from Pyle Audio (who knows if they are the orig manufacturer or not)

They have other displays if you don't like that LED unit.

Those prices aren't street prices, I got the PLPSE3 for $30 and it lists for $81. You can froogle to find a seller.

Some of the other displays:

The LED is actually pretty nice. I've used it for backing up to a loading dock etc. Mine is in meters and it reports down to 0.3M (1ft) and then it reports 0.

I didn't drill my bumper, I went to lowes and got some aluminum 1/8 bar stock and bent a small bracket. Drilled that bracket, painted it black, and then inserted the sensors. I attached the bracket to the bottom lip of the bumper with 3m to the bottom edge of the bumper.

When I first got the truck I parked in a parking garage early in the morning. When I left mid-afternoon I was surrounded by cars. I wasn't even sure I could get out of there. I had to get out a lot to see how close I was when backing out.

At the same time as the sensor I put in a backup camera in the bumper and mounted a 7" LCD display in the drivers sun visor in place of the mirror.

It helps greatly.

Alternately you could carry two orange cones and carry two brooms to stick in the cones and place them at the nearest thing you might hit

I was too chicken to drill my bumper. txnole's install looks much better.

I wasn't sure about:

- Did I really want to put holes in my bumper.
- Even though the manual comes with measurements on where to place the sensors, it also has some broken english so I wasn't sure I wanted to trust it and drill, and have it not work well.

Please ignore my very dirty bumper and the surrounding layer of sand/dirt on everything

Here was my solution (I installed a CCD camera in the black plastic portion of the bumper tag area that normally holds a reverse sensor on the factory installed 4 sensor setup). This shows the passenger side sensor on the bottom edge lip of the bumper.

BTW, I bought mine from here:

Trust me, I was scared s-less to drill the bumper, especially since I'm more Tim Allen than Bob Villa. It was super easy. On a scale of 1-5 for difficulty, this is a two (pretty dang easy.)

I want to install the sensors on mine, can anybody please post some pics of how they placed the control box and the wires running to the cab setup, it would help a lot of not so handy people like me.

Kind regards
Dan

My control box stated it was water proof. I just got some very wide velcro and stuck it under the rear of the truck bed.

There's one wire that goes from the display to the control box. If you put the display on the mirror you can just tuck the wires into the headliner by just using your fingers, then take the A-pillar cover off (two pop out covers around the handle give you access to the screws). Run the cable down that and fish it how you please down to the floor.

Take up the sill plate in the door jam (it just prys up, but be careful) and keep running the wire down through the large rubber grommet which will get it to the underside of the truck. From there just wiretie it to existing points to get it to the back.

sensors

I just purchased the same kit from Hong Kong. I ordered the extra 2 sensors.
2 black and 2 grey. The black ones are going on the plastic next to the license plate. I am wondering about the wires from the brain to the tail light.

Which wire is the anode? each tail light has a 3 wire plug
Which wire is the cathrode? each tail light has a 3 wire plug

Please post back and let me know when you get this and how well it works, i want to get a 4 sensor unit as well 2 for the inside of the bumper and 2 for the outside. THX

txnole, did you test the sensor while something was toward the side of your bumper? im sure it works great for backing up straight but how far is the range of the side of the sensors? im worried w/ a 2 unit kit the outside of the bumpers might not be as accurate.
