door chime

When this wire is disconnected, does it have an effect on the following......

1-keyfob?

2-keyless entry with the doors locked and the key in the ignition?

3-keyless entry with the doors locked and the engine running?

I have heard that the wire disconnect may disable these functions. has anyone experienced any of the above?

Does the low fuel notification still beep with this? Also, my factory remote to unlock the car should still work if I cut this wire, right?

I pulled the wire from the connector and tested the OEM keyless entry. It will still open the doors #2 and #3 listed above. The key fob is not effected either. I could never get an answer to this, so I pulled the wire and tested it myself. The low fuel indicator alarm should not be effected, it would not be tied into this system.

The add on Ford Keyless Entry will not open the door with the wire disconnected. It is basically an additional key fob that mounts on the vehicle, and it is possible to lock the keys in the vehicle with this setup.

If you read the owners manual you can turn off the seat belt reminder, and auto lock feature.

is there a special way to remove this pin from the connector?
i got the connector out ok and the little red clip off the end of the connector and i can seee the pink n black wire seems to be the 3rd pin in but not sure how to remove w/o damaging things?

Pretty much all connector pins (round, square or otherwise) have a small cleat on one side. This cleat can be retracted by inserting something like a small screwdriver from a watchmakers set from the business (front) end of the plug. If you look carefully from that end you'll see which side it's on. (there are special tools for retracting these pins but it can be pretty easily done without them). Once the cleat is retracted, the pin should pretty much pull right out of the hole.

Post #12-14... I read this and understand but can't figure out how to pop the black/pink wire pin out of the connector. I was even able to pop the red pin lock off the connector. I have a small enough screwdriver as described but looking for help with this so I don't damage the wire and pin if I find I have to put it back. Any advise appreciated. Thanks!

You could do it the redneck way - just cut the wire, if you need to reconnect it, splice the wires back together with a Scotchlok.
