Have you considered a “clear bra”? 3M is one company that markets them among others. Do a web search for *clear bra* to check them out

Most of the major tinting shops now offer the 3M clear front end shields which are getting rave reviews, but I don't know how they are for grille protection. Here's a link to a mesh bra that looks interesting...

Word of warning. I had a bra on my 87 Mazda 323. I got lazy about removing it weekly and cleaning under it and waxing the hood etc...

It sanded my hood. I had it as tight as possible.

another option is to place a good coat of wax on the truck, especially the front. When you get to your destinantion, take a strong stream of water, and the majority of the bugs should come right off. For those that don't, a godd washing will take care of them.
I found that Meguiar's NXT works real well, as does Mother's FX.

I had the 3M Paint Protection Film installed on my wife's new Escape when we bought it earlier this year. So far I love it, and plan on having it installed on my new F-150 when it arrives in a few weeks!

Keep in mind, however, that it is designed to minimize rock chips -- bugs will still get stuck onto the film and you will have to wash them off. As stated in previous posts, keeping a good coat of wax on your truck will make bug removal relatively painless.

As far as the true vinyl front end bras, I would never put one on my truck. They look totally gay, and I really can't see how you couldn't have scratches left on your paint simply because of how they are installed and used on a vehicle!

I just had my complete front end done with clear bra..Upper and lower bumbers, hood, side fenders, grille, headlights and foglights....Absolutely love it...Bugs can't get through this stuff. Pictures are in my gallery.

150cable...Where did you get the 5.4 emblem on your tailgate. That looks nice. Evens out the tailgate.

Thanks,

i used to put PAM cooking spray on the front of my vehicles when i went on a long trip. the bugs wont stick, and it washes right off. i saw Dave on "Shade Tree Mechanic" recommend the same thing a few weeks ago.

just a thought - oaw

Careful with the PAM... while it'll work, the propellants utilized in the mix will, most likely, remove your wax. Just FYI.
