Rear Seat Removal and Leather Seat Cover Install

Just finished my leather seat project in my 04 SCrew XLT. I bought the Black Leather seat covers off of ebay and installed them. First off, thanks to Melville for the excellent pictures detailing how to remove the rear seat. One thing i can add is that i did the passenger side first and then twisted the seat back and the whole thing popped out. So one person can easily do it. The other problem i ran into was that i had lariat seat covers with the fold down arm rest and an xlt seat without it. I had an upholstry shop sew the armrest cover into the seat cover (looked ok). The biggest problem i have now is that the seat cover hoos are different between an XLT/FX4 and a LAriat. I cant stretch the cover tight enough in the middle of the seat. I think i can fabricate something but if anyone has a better idea, let me know. I will post pictures soon. I also need covers for the the flip down front console!!

I did the exact same thing you did with the rear flip down. My aunt is an upholster so she did it for me. It looks like factory. What she did with the back seat is used zip ties to hold the cover in the middle. Top and bottom. It doesnt look great but once installed you can't even tell. By the way i have some left over stuff. It looks to be the front flip down pieces. I have buckets in the front so i don;t know. E-mail me at b.pajunen@sasktel.net with pics of the middle pieces and i'll let you know if they are the ones i have. You can just have them. Just send me some money for shipping.

I bought my leather seat covers from ebay but I went ahead and added the actual armrest. Had to buy it from ford for about $80. Looks pretty sweet.

How did you attach the seat cover in the middle because the frames are different betwwen the lariat and the fx4/xlt?
