12v outlet

Well i finally removed the coin holder and replaced it with an air temperature guage. I am using it to measure interior temperature because i replaced the boring stx cluster with an fx4 cluster which gives me the outside temp. It looks great and works even better. The problem is the 12 volt outlet on the other side of radio looks so boring. I need some ideas for a guage to put there to balance everything off. I though of a clock from the same company which would match however there is a clock in the radio. Any ideas?
Thanks, Jim
PS. I have heard that there is a way to display the radio station instead of the clock on the radio. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Not sure what gauges the new cluster has, but anything would probably help...tranny temp, oil temp, etc...

Actually, I was thinking of going the other way...replacing the coin holder with another lighter plug...when you get two guys who work/ride with me who always have dead cell phones, the three I have get used a lot. (including my cell and my fuzzbuster)

Where did you get that temp gauge? That looks very nice, and seems to be an easy mod.

Got the gauge off ebay. The mod is very easy, The hardest part was finding 12 volts! HAHA. I tapped the cig lighter since I dont use it and have a billet cap on it. I also ran the wire of the light illumiator to the wire that controls the parking lights on the headlight switch. This way the switch is only illuminated when the other inerior lights are illuminated.

Looks good Paint, I've wondered why most gauges only go down to minus (-20) degrees? Around here, that could be a warm day in the winter. Seen it -45 a couple times in the past 25 years and many times -30. Maybe the hand would just give up and fall off.

Clean install, looks good.
Wish someone would make an instant mileage meter in gauge size. That would be too cool in the other hole.

I have a silly question though. That's internal air temp? It only goes to a 100? Do you drive above the artic circle?

I run about 140 inside after parking in the sun for about four hours. It will be a bit higher when summer gets here...

I am sorry Chris... have fun with the heat

But the real question is do you sit in the truck at the temp or open the windows, then trun the truck on, run the ac and then wait a few.

Looks good!

How did you get access to the back of the gauge to snug everything up? Did you have the remove the radio bezel and maybe even the radio or the climate control pod?
