The Tailgate Needs Something Else... Pics in Post #223 & #257

Everytime I pull into the garage in my wife's Explorer and see my truck sitting there, I tend to draw focus on the fact that I have a BILLBOARD of a Ford oval in the center of the tailgate, a KR F150 Badge on the left side, and the right side is naked...

While I know some of the FX4 guys have added the FX4 logo (which looks PERFECT there IMO), I'm struggling to figure out something to 'equal out' the appearance on the gate.

Obviously, I'm wanting to go with something that looks 'stock' (no Dodge 4x4 emblems)... I kicked around the idea about a 'V8' stick on there (like the ones that are on the back of the Explorers (in fact, like the one on my wife's Explorer)) but, I just don't think it's big enough to serve the purpose of balancing the gate...

Any thoughts?

Interesting thought... I hadn't considered that one... but, not sure I want F-150 twice on the gate... it's an option though... thanks BD!

Do you think you want an emblem of some sort, or would you consider some vinyl? Maybe one of the sign guys can make something for you..Just a thought

Would I consider vinyl... probably not. I've never been much of a fan of vinyl on paint... at all.

I'd much rather have an emblem... FoMoCo really needs an updated looking 4X4 logo.

I think you are totally fine with your tailgate RP, and wanted to show off the mirror image in the photo.

Alright, alright, I can read your wifes plate number in the reflection.

Actually, it was my dog at the front door that I wanted to show off... LOL!

Seriously though... I'm just not finding many options in this realm... Does anyone 'MAKE' custom emblems (not vinyl)?

How about the V8 badge like I used on my fenders? Perhaps an F150online sticker? Just a thought.

I think you have to be careful what you put on the tailgate because you don’t want something that’s going to look tacky. proceed with caution

Chrome Emblems

You, of all people, need a Meguiars emblem. Have you asked them if they have something available? That's it... the King Ranch Meguiars Edition.

Trust me man... I'm on EXACTLY the same page... This is why I asked for opinions to try to get some ideas. Tacky is always in the eye of the onlooker and we've all seen something we thought was 'tacky' that someone did to their truck. While it doesn't have to appease the masses, it'll have to appease me... trust me, I'm going to try to be discriminating about this. If I can't find something that suits me, trust me, it won't happen.
