Well I went to Biloxi last night and did very well (playing blackjack) so I descided to go ahead and do a a cat back on my truck. I REALLY don't like the dual out the back or one out each side look...so I guess a Banks Monster Exhaust is the way I will go. Will this system fit the new style exhaust system they put on these trucks in late 04 or would I have to have it modified like you had to do with the Magnaflow?

 

According to vendor propaganda, the system is a bolt-on for '2004-2005' if you specify cab/wheelbase type...$459 or thereabouts seems to be a common price. I was disappointed to note that photos of the system show U-bolt fasteners instead of band clamps (per Magnaflow).

 

Magnaflow makes a single exit exhaust too, pokes out of the stock location if I remember right. I forget the part number, but I agree, I'm not too keen on dual exit exhausts. Whenever I get mine done, I just want something simple, a single exit with like a 3" or so polished tip.

 

mines not a late 04 but it intsalled in 30 minutes. Very straight forward & simple intsructions included. I've a friend with a Lariat Screw & he went with the Magnaflow SI/SO. Both are great looking/sounding systems. The Banks however is a tad louder inside & out. When ever we race or are on the road together mine system drowns his out. He even wishes he'd gotten the Banks now.

 

mines not a late model 04 either..... but I have the single side out magnaflow. I am not a fan or duals straight out the back.... The install was extremely simple and only took a very short time. I believe magnaflow has the kit for the late model 04s also.

 

I had a Banks Monster on my 05 (manufactured after Aug 05) and it fit with no problem. The Banks attaches at the y-pipe, not the intermediate pipe, so you'll have no problem. It took my longer to take the stock system off than to install the Banks.
