That would make my 1 liter, 140 hp bike, 40% better than perfect! I guess that's why I have only ever run Mobil 1 in it!!!

I can't even do the math on the 600cc "crotch rockets" that are so far over perfection.

I'm talking about car and truck engines. I'll be the first to admit I don't know squat about bikes.

The only local dealer I trust enough to work on my truck said that the 5.4 3V doesn't require the full syn stuff. Regardless of that, I'm planning on running either Mobil 1 or Castrol Syntech at my next oil change (due in 500 miles). Lots of people write that they love Mobil 1. ANy Syntech users out there? Pro's? Con's? I'm leaning towards the Castrol simply because I can get it for $3/bottle compared to $4/bottle for M1.

The Honda S2000 is 240 HP from 2 liters. My 2000 VFR800fi is 105HP from .75 liters. This proves my theory that its the best all around street bike made. It even won several comparisons in bike mags to validate this.

I'd still rather have a German car, though. It's funny, I HATE japanese cars but love Honda Bikes. Maybe if the Germans or the US for that matter would make a REAL sport touring bike that looks nice, runs right and doesn't cost $17000, then I would buy one. BMW makes great bikes but the're ugly and cost much $$$$. Buell's are pathetic jokes. I wouldn't own one if you gave it to me. Harley's aren't sport tourers & over-priced & under-powered & maintenance hogs & in general, retarded. Anyone who actually forks over the $$$$ for a Harely needs to have their head examined.

I use and have used Amsoil in my F150's. I trust my local mechanic and swear by Amsoil. It is costly, but not much more costly then changing your oil every 3-5 thousand miles. With Amsoil I push the oil change out to 10-12 thousand miles. So the cost is the same. I also run synthetic oil in my transmission.

For every litre you should have around 100 HP...thats an ideal scenario usually never met, but should be close to that, within 75 HP. We're no where near that range thus it is also a low cost truck motor, not a porshe or bmw or mercedes motor.

SOOOO...other none high performance engines include the LS1, the new Z06 LS7 (only 500HP from a 6.0L engine), the Viper engine (way short....8.0L and only 500HP), and pretty much every old muscle car made.

Come to think of it I can't think of a single normaly aspirated HP engine. I guess to meat the criteria set above you would first off have to have a tiny motor (the "within 75 HP would really help if you only need 200HP to have 100HP per liter) and it would just about have to be blown (and this really screws up the displacment comparisions as the amount of fuel air mixture in a blown engine and a NA engine of the same size is not nearly the same).

Dude, I ride but why does every post you make have bikes in them. Some how you figure out how to squeeze this whole bike comparrison in when were talking about fully synthetic. and apparently a lot of people need to have their head examined because HD is still in business arn't they?

shadled...the tranny came from the factory with synthetic oil.

BTW, I use Castrol SynBlend 5W20 that meets Ford specs, cost less than $2.00/qt on sale, and I change every 5K miles. At $1.77/qt at WallyWorld, Motorcraft 5W20 was a bargain but Ford finally stopped subsidizing us when they discontinued sales to that vendor.

This may have been said and I just missed it, but has anyone had a warranty problem using a good non-synthetic oil? Such as 5-30 Valvoline? I have had very good experience with this oil in other vehicles and planned to use it. Then all this talk of blends and synthetics has me wondering about the Warranty question.

bluejay...go ahead and use Valvoline 5W30...no warranty problemo! The lower viscosity 5W20 is a CAFE issue, not one of lubrication sufficiency!

I guess I should have been more specific. What I meant was when I change my tranny fluid, I use Amsoil Synthetic.

If you don't like my posts, simply do not read them. Last time I checked, this was a free country and I could in fact post whatever I like too. Last time I checked, I'm in the US Armed Forces to protect the freedoms we as Americans enjoy. I'm entitled to write anything I choose. If my opinion bothers you then don't read it, problem solved... We've been over this before, you don't like me & I don't like you. Soooooo, don't try to instigate anything and everbody's happy...

Back to the topic at hand, nobody used Castrol Syntech???
