I'm with J-150. The best way to keep from valuable stuff being stolen from your truck is to not have it in your truck. Since you gave no valid reason, then I'd say that's a valid solution.

A very wise man once said, "Lighten up, Francis."

I think that applies here.

J, I agree with you. A lock tells crooks to look inside.....But geez, why doesnt everyone take a midol. The attitudes in the forums lately just runs members off.

Well hell I better take the locks off my doors of my truck, my car, and at my house. The crooks won't even come near my stuff!

Anywho, trying to get back on topic... Do you have a touneneueue cover? Some of the hard covers that lock are neat-o, plus they have lockable storage boxes...

Take a look at this site and see if anything tickles your fancy: http://www.tuffyproducts.com/

Die bad movie quotes, Die!

To at least appear to go back on topic;
A lock on a center console would be standard or many trucks/cars.
You wouldn't have to make it large and obnoxious.

He's just trying to keep people from messing with his stuff, not hold off the guys from Gone in 60 Seconds.

On locking things, the purpose of a lock is to persuade a criminal that it will take too long, and to get him to move on to easier
pickings.

Or to let an honest man be honest. The studies still show that 10% will always steal, 10% will never steal, and the others will only steal if it's easy or safe. It's that 80% that he is worried about.
Me too.
Chris

I think not keeping valuables in your car will definitly stop people from stealing them from your car. Not the point you shouldn't have to do that , however you do. So how do you keep you stuff safe? The RV dealership is a good place to start looking for ideas. Or even the gunsafe. How bout thumb-tacks under the handle? No, realy, I never even looked do our gloveboxes lock?

Well, with all the visible stereo equipment you've got, a lil'ol lock won't add much more "noticibility"...it will, however, help with keeping the valet from making off with your Altoids. I second the Tuffy Security stuff...practically bombproof. I don't have that problem, as I have yet to run into valet parking at Taco Bell. I'm sure I'd get run off if I tried to get into anyplace swankier. Basically, as long as you don't hang a chromed Master padlock off the side of the console, you should be ok.

And, for those who care, "It's Czechoslovakia! We're not going to Moscow, it's like going to Wisconsin..."

NukePooch, you must be going to some really low end Taco Bells if they don't have Valet parking...

Chris

:o
Oh, my bad, its Valmet parking at these Southern California Taco Bells.

OK, for those that don't know, a Valmet is a Finnish knockoff of the AK47.... Get it?
