miscalaneous Q's, new Lariat

1. do all headliners bounce when you slam the door? (has moonroof)

2. can the driver seat be made so it wont go back all the way when I open the door. I have to hit "Memory one " every time i get back into the truck.

3. the stereo controls on steering wheel: can the SEEK button be programmed to ONLY scan my presets, instead of every stupid station in the universe?

4. thats all. Awesome truck, handling is unreal. I just ditched a '97 Safari SLT. That thing has the worst suspension in postwar history.

1....Mine does it too.

2....Yes, you can set your remotes to remember memory 1 & 2 for remotes 1 &2.

3....Mine only scans preset stations, I did not know it would scan all stations...Guess its time to bust out the manual here too.

4....Get that manual out and good luck.:D

3. - same here...mine only skips through the presets I have...it doesn't 'seek' through every station it picks up. Unless this is a new feature (I have a 2004), I'm not sure why it's doing that. Press to the left to change modes (CD, FM 1, FM 2, AM) and press to the right to scan through presets.

My FX4 did the same thing. Eventually, it will start rattling when driving. Take it in under warranty they will fix it. They put more padding up in there.

1 - No there is no movement in the headliner
2 - What keyfob are you using to unlock the the door. it sounds like you are using the wrong one for memory preset 1 .The only time mine moves is when I unlock the door with the wife's key.
3 - you have the radio on auto scan, change it to manually set the stations and it will then work how you like.

I was under the impression that the 05s now scanned instead of jumped to the presets with the steering wheel controls and the 04s jumped to the resets.

how do you change it from auto to manual. I have the 05 with the 6 disc changer that plays mp3's and I hate it, everytime i hit the search button to go to the next preset, it jumps to the next available station, not my next preset. Please help...

Looked in the manual

I'd be interested in figuring this out as well. Any help?

For you guys with the wheel controls, do you have JUST the cruise and radio controls on the wheel, or also A/C controls? Is there a wheel that just has cruise and radio controls?

Thanks,

Travis

My controls have everything and just for grins I tested the Autoscan bit...and succeeded in reprograming my stations but as I suspected it didn't change the behavior of the wheel controls.

Unless I misread the instructions the controls simply behave differently on the 04 vs the 05.

Man this is strange. My 04 and 05 Lariat steering wheel controls both worked the same. If you hit the scan or mem or whatever its called button on the wheel it goes from pre set to pre set station only. Both model years, both same radio. Some on here say it scans...wtf. God how embarassing, we are going to have to get out the manual (we guys hate that!)

Same here!

AutoProgram

Turn on the AutoProgram, then hit the next channel on the steering wheel and it will autoscan to the next station. Works on my 04 and my buddies 05.
