Lightbulb Painted door handles/Mirrors

I would like to paint my door handles & mirrors and add a lil' chrome similar to... well, exactly like the Licoln Mark LT. I've tried to locate these items from Lincoln but have been met with little success.

- Does anyone know if there is a vendor out there who supplies smoothed/ready to paint units?

- ... supplies chrome pieces like the "LT"?

- Has anyone successfully sanded and painted the stock units? If so, I'd like to see examples.

Moss Motors supplies a complete, smoothed Billet unit. But covering up Billet would be a shame. Moss also has a "stick-on" chrome over lay, but I'm looking for something more durable.

Thx for the help...

Thumbs up THX asinatra

looks good!

Like everyone else, "How'd ya do it"? Please CC: me the progress or any photos (when other parts are done). I'll be looking for the write-up also. You sound busy, so I guess it'll be a while but looking forward to seeing it.

The other question i had was about Lincoln parts... Anyone have ideas? Or shall I just wait?

Thx again

I order all my parts for Five star Ford in AZ. I can give you their contact info if you want it. They usally beat everyone else on parts like that and they do alot of internet sales.

I've always wondered how the mirrors would look painted the Arizona Beige.

I think someone needs to be the pig and its not going to be me!

With the mirrors I feel it would be too much... thus I left them alone and am very happy.

Sanded, primed, painted & clearcoated. I'd like to know where I can get matched paint for plastics at $15. How large a can? At the time I did it, nobody made the match for the '04s...

good paint is never cheap. Had NAPA mix mine for the vent visors and a half pint premixed was 90 bucks. That didnt include the clear. My color code is FX

N.A.P.A
the color of my truck is merlot

plus if you have a local paint shop mix it they can go out to the truck to make sure that the color matchs. They will also mix the flex in the paint so all you have to do is load it in the gun and spray. however you have to make sure that you paint it be for the paint wont spray anymore if it is a premix. i bought my paint the night before i needed it that way i could spend all the next day to spray.

No it doesnt. I used an adhesive that makes paint stick to the plastic. And this is what the paint shop recomended.
