tire size for 22's?

got my eagle 22 x 9.5 wheels in today for my 05 reg cab.

going to get tires on monday. my question is what size would look best with the 3/5 drop im going to be doing next week?
285/35/22's or 305/40/22's?

i know the 1st set would be closer to stock diameter, but i didnt know which would fill out the wheel wells better with the drop.

any input will be rewarded with nanners:banana: :D

305's.... no battle.....

This is what mine looks like with a 305/35-23 and a 2/3 drop. So I would go with the 305/40-22. It's almost exactly the same over-all size.

thx guys!

the only reason i was considering the 285/35's was the fact that the were almost identical to my stock size, and the larger tires would slow me down somewhat. im going to be doing a turbo or procharger in around a year or so and wanted this truck to be fast... but since i only have the 3.55's now, ill prolly end up switching to 4.10's later anyway.

i guess ill be going with the 305/40's :)

265's in the front.

Stick with the 40's otherwise you will still have a gap from thire to fender well and you will lose sidewall protection. I have 305/40/22 and they are pretty meaty.

HIDPLANET, nice truck :bows:

im suprised the 2/4.5 drop lowered it that much. my truck seems to sit really high for a 2WD, and was worried that a 3/5 was gonna leave me wanting it lower. but if it ends up looking like yours ill be happy:smoke:

Im very happy with my suspension.
I happy with the ride height and ride quality. Wouldnt want it lower because I still wanted tire clearance and such.
Seems like all the kits for our trucks are good quality kits....I just liked the fact that this one replaced the leaf springs rather than using a flip kit, and was cheaper in cost + installation than the kit parts alone.
I also like the wheel and tire package combo because I didnt want a hug wheel with super low-pro tires. The 305/40/22 that I have are nice but I still would have rather used 45 series sidewalls. The thinner you go, the easier to damage the wheels and worse the ride quality. The suspension didnt affect the ride quality but the tires did...its the only thing that is slightly noticable.

I'd go with the 305/40-22's. Here's what they look like with 305/45-22 Falkens.

wow im suprised at the diff between 40's and 45's

40's look good to me. i think the 35's would be way too skinny looking for a truck :)

Looks great! Cant wait to see the suspension installed.
Any chance youre looking for a Chrome Lariat Grill surround to match your wheels and bumper? Im looking for a black surround.
